Sunday, May 24 | 9:46 A.M. _____________________________ Kody's P.O.V.
I slowly wake up to the sound of birds chirping on a branch just outside the window. Lumine's still sound asleep next to me so I quietly get up and dressed.
I open my door and go to the kitchen to find my dad making breakfast. I sit down at the table and he turns around. "Oh hey son, you ready for today?" He asks. I shake my head and rub my eyes, not knowing what he's talking about.
"Ready for what?" I question.
"Training. To help you do magic." He sits down next to me. "We'll start when your done."
"O-Ok."
After I finish and put my dishes away, I look over at dad, who's walking up to me holding a knife and a beater. (If y'all don't know what a beater is, here.)

"Ok, we can either do this the easy way, or the hard way." He says seriously.
"Umm, the easy way?" I slowly say. He begins to set the stuff down.
"Ok, follow me." I follow him outside to a field. The air outside is hot but tolerable (thankfully).
"Ok." He stops me. "I want you to create a small fire. One that you can control. But just make it as big as you can before you will pass out." I do what he says and I make a small green fire, about a foot in length. I hold it before about a minute before I fall to my knees.
"I...I can't do it anymore." I painfully get out.
"It's fine, I'll heal you." He says as he puts his hand on top of my head. I suddenly feel better. I get up and look at him.
"Ok Kody, now I want you to do what you just did again. I want your body to get used to the stress of magic before we go any further." I hesitate but comply.
I create a new fire, about the same diameter as before. I hold it for as long as I can before collapsing once again.
"Don't push yourself Kody, you are doing fine. Your lasting about a minute. Your goal today is to just make it to a minute thirty." He heals he and I try again.

"Ok Kody, let's try one more time. Your doing great!" Dad encourages me.
I create another fire. A little bigger this time. I look over to see Lumine watching me with dad. I begin to think of Lumine, and not of the fire.
"Good job Kody, your doing great!" Lumine yells. I smile and give it my all. After a while I tap out and collapse.
"Wow son, look at this!" Dad calls me over and slows me the stopwatch.
It reads 03:24:36 (3 minutes, 24 seconds, 36 milliseconds).
'Wow. And that's only day one.' I think to myself. "Ok, now I'm gonna go relax." I say as I walk into the house and lay face-first onto the couch.
