Dreamcatcher was exploring the rainforest as she had gotten a bit tired of reading so she had decided to take a break. She didn't know how long she had been out there, maybe about three hours? She was deep into the forest by now and the trees were starting to thin out. It didn't take long for her to reach the edge of the rainforest, opening out to a beach.
Dream bounded over to the shore with a huge grin on her face, the water lapping at her feet. She had never seen the ocean before, her parents never really let her or her siblings leave the rainforest. So she wasn't going to pass up this opportunity, she might never get the chance again.
Dreamcatcher jumped into the cool water, doing her best to stay afloat as she relaxed. She swam around for a bit, investigating her surroundings as she looked for anything interesting to no avail.
But then, something caught her eye. Out of the corner of eye she spotted something, something green that shined like emeralds in the sun but it disappeared again before she make out what it was. But a second later, she got her answer. Hearing splashing behind her, Dreamcatcher turned back to the beach as a SeaWing climbed out of the sea and onto the shore. Instinctively, Dreamcatcher sunk lower into the ocean, submerging half her face in the water so only her eyes were above the surface. The SeaWing didn't seem to be aware of her presence, but he soon spotted her. It was hard not to, her dark scales stood out as clear as day.
Dreamcatcher tried to sink lower into the sea, but it was useless, the SeaWing had already spotted her.
"Um... Hi? Who are you?" The emerald green SeaWing asked, clearly puzzled. Hesitantly, Dreamcatcher floated her way over to him.
"I'm Dreamcatcher... Who are you?"
"I'm Forest." The SeaWing paused before asking his next question as Dream climbed onto the beach out of the sea.
"Why are you so far into the rainforest?"
"I've never seen the ocean before."
"Oh! Why didn't you say so sooner? C'mon!" Forest grinned in excitement. They spent the rest of the day splashing around laughing as they celebrated Dreamcatcher's first trip to sea.
As the sun sank lower in the sky they became aware of the time. "My parents will be getting worried! I have to go! I had fun, thanks!" Dream said, making her way back to the shore.
"Oh! You're right, I have to go too! Bye, see you later?" Forest agreed."Definitely!"
Little did they know, a friendship had just blossomed. They soon became best friends, not long after they first met.
