Kiibo awoke to the sound of their own rest mode switch being flipped back on.
"Kiiboy, I have a question."
Sigh. This was the seventh or eighth time this month alone that Kokichi had broke into their room to ask ridiculous questions. Annoyed, Kiibo blinked their eyes open, only to see the small boy sitting nonchalantly atop their metal-plated chest. "H-hey! Get off of me this instant!" They whisper-shouted, their face turning a bit blue.
"But I have a question!" Kokichi childishly whined, his voice far too loud, considering the time. This resulted in a huff and an eye roll from the other.
"You should not be so rude to people you want favors from. Please apologize for waking me up at an hour like this!" Kiibo requested, keeping their voice low. Although they had grown used to the other's antics, they still insisted on being treated with respect. "And- get off of me!"
Kokichi rolled his eyes, carelessly flopping off of Kiibo's chest, ending up next to them. He propped his head up with his hand, ignoring most of what the robot had said. "Move over, you're taking up too much room." He cut right to the chase, running out of patience. "Now tell me, can robots turn off their emotions?"
Kiibo shifted over a bit, despite the fact that it was their own bed. "Why would you want to know such a thing?"
With a giggle, Kokichi answered, "Easy! Because I want to turn Kiibo into a sex doll without emotions!" After a few moments of watching Kiibo's shocked face, his smile turned a bit more sinister. "That was a lie. Just tell me already, you idiot!"
It took Kiibo a minute to recover from that especially threatening lie, if that's even what it was. There was no telling with this guy. "Um..? No, robots can't turn their emotions off." Their voice showed that they were quite confused.
Kokichi huffed. "Damn. Oh, well." Quickly, he hopped up off of the bed, making his way to the door.
"Ouma, what was the real reason you asked me such a question?" Kiibo didn't expect an answer, but it wouldn't hurt to ask. Or maybe it would. If it did, it wouldn't hurt much.
With his hand already on the doorknob, Kokichi stared at the crack between the door and the wall. "When I get sad, I want to turn my emotions off. I wanted to know if robots had the luxury of doing that."
That was unexpected. "Wait, really?"
Kokichi glanced back at the other. "No." He opened the door, stepping out. "That was another lie. Goodnight, Kiiboy!"
Except his words didn't sound very convincing to Kiibo.
