-Art not mine!-
Nobody's POV:
Kirishima was holding his breath. Bakugou had tried his hardest to build him a bed but it would seem that his efforts were futile. There, in front of Kirishima stood a basic frame with an uneven leg.
His face was flushed red from holding in laughter so he gave Bakugou a shaky thumbs up with his free hand and snickered lightheartedly. Bakugou furrowed his brows and pouted, he was well aware that he hadn't done a "bang-up job" on the bed frame but Kirishima didn't have to be so rude about it.
"Oh shut up! Like you could do any better..." Bakugou rubbed his temple, Kirishima's muffled cackling and witty comments were going to make him go deaf before the age of fifty.
Bakugou crossed his arms and soon enough, he too was holding back giggles. It wasn't even that funny but between the bad placement of rotten wood legs on the frame and the lack of tension in the atmosphere it was really hard to keep from laughing.
"Bakugou, I'm flattered but I'm really too big to sleep on that bed..." Bakugou's face was now beet red. If he was gonna be embarrassed he wanted it to at least be by his own means. Kirishima smiled his signature toothy grin
"It's alright, i-it looks f-fine!" Kirishima chirped. Bakugou snarled, his face was now noticeably redder than before.
"Stop trying to make me feel better! I'll keep trying to build this frame until it's sturdy enough for you to lay on." Bakugou grunted. Kirishima shook his head.
"It's fine, I'd much rather sleep with you!" Bakugou was speechless, he didn't know how to respond. Surely Kirishima didn't mean it, Bakugou began to laugh. Kirishima was kind, so kind that it even made the blond happy, it was physically impossible to stay angry or even emotionless at that when the red-head came around sweet talking him at every turn and consoling him when he really needed it.
What was the term again? Bakugou tried to think, every rose has it's thorn, yeah that was it! Bakugou had heard that phrase way too many times back when he lived with his tribe and at the time it was just a kind means of saying "you're not good enough, but you know how to fight" and he always took it as an insult but in his defense who wouldn't have.
He even assumed that most would use the term to describe Kirishima. But he didn't feel the same way. Kirishima had no "thorns" no imperfections, he didn't come with any conditions or anything, the patches of vitiligo on his arm were perfect, the scars on his eyes and back were perfect, the marks, the hair, the freckles, the wings, the horns, the muscles, the acne scars, everything about him was perfect.
Yet Bakugou couldn't bring himself to envy the man. He couldn't be jealous no matter how much he hated himself, he couldn't be mad for not being as jaw-droppingly gorgeous as Kirishima was.
He figured that this was because the dragon-shifter treated him like he was enough.
So, for once in his life, he felt like enough.
And that was everything for him. He almost broke down right then, he was laughing and smiling and even crying a little. This feeling was something that could only be described as pure, unrefined love.
Bakugou didn't know who or what it was love for but there was no other way to describe the pang in his chest that was so strong it almost made him nauseous. He knew it was foolish, all Kirishima did was say something nice to him, but all of those feelings he'd bottled up for so long had finally been granted their release.
Bakugou's legs seemed to move on their own as he inched towards a laughing Kirishima who had no clue what was just going on in Bakugou's head and wrapped his arms around him.
Kirishima's eyes widened. He hugged Bakugou back. He was still unsure of why Bakugou had hugged him but it didn't matter, any desire that the blond had he swore to fulfill, he had promised him his utmost compliance to begin with but he would still follow the blond to the ends of the earth even if there was nothing to gain from it.
"Kirishima" Bakugou clutched onto the thick garments that he'd sewn for Kirishima to lounge around in and buried his head in the dragon shifter's shoulder with a pause "thank you."
Kirishima was utterly taken aback. He really didn't know what to do other than hug Bakugou tighter and tell Bakugou it was going to be alright. He didn't know what Bakugou was thanking him for and he didn't care, if this was what Bakugou wanted, it was what he was to get.
"You're horrible at building but if we're being honest that's the only thing I can tease you for." Kirishima laughed. Bakugou punched him in the chest softly and smiled.
"Be quiet, you try practically adopting a dragon shifter with an awful sense of direction" Bakugou huffed. Kirishima chuckled.
"Is that really the only thing you can bully me about?" Bakugou let go of Kirishima's garments and looked the other way. His eyes were a bit puffy from all of the crying but Kirishima knew better than to mention them.
"Shut up and help me scrap this." Kirishima nodded and ran towards Bakugou to tear apart the rotted wood. The bed frame was so poorly made that the legs could be torn off by hand. The two worked for at the most five minutes until the frame had been reduced to only wooden slabs (it was in a state close enough to that to begin with) and Bakugou was unsure of what to do with it.
"What a shame, I tore down a tree for this." Bakugou grumbled staring down at the pile of wood that littered his floor. Kirishima snapped his fingers and smirked.
"I've got an idea!"
———
They ended up burning the wood in the fireplace and telling stories to each other until the fire burned out.
