Chapter 8:

Amy's POV:

"C'mon Amy, just go!" Liam urged me on.

I shook my head, and clung to Liam's shirt. I looked over the edge of the platform. I felt my stomach drop down to my ankles, making me light-headed.

"N-No. I can just go later," I begged, still grasping onto Liam's shirt.

"It'll be fun though!" He reassured me.

"No-No it won't. I don't want to go down!" I whimpered into his chest.

Liam put a comforting arm around me, pulling me in closer. I dug my head into his shoulder, smelling his loving scent. I looked up at him and smiled. He smiled back, poking my nose with his finger.

"Y'know, if you don't go down the zip line now, you're going to have to walk all the way back down the mountain," he smirked.

I rolled my eyes at his comment.

"You're such a tease Liam," I chuckled hitting his shoulder.

"OW!" He yelped, holding his left arm. We both giggled, causing Louis to sigh from behind us.

"My God. Would you two shut up with your lovey dovey comments?" He groaned.

I felt my cheeks go hot. I saw Liam's turn a bit red too. I stuck my tongue out at Louis, trying to hide my embarrassed face.

"Who's up next?" I heard David shout from the platform.

"Amy is!" Liam yelped, pushing me forward.

"What? No- please. I don't wanna go!" I pleaded as David hooked me up to the harness.

"Too late," Liam snicked from behind me.

"That's not fair!" I complained, crossing my arms.

"Ready?" David asked whilst making the final adjustments to the harness.

"Not really..." I whimpered.

"Okay, you're all set to go," David announced.

"Do I have to?" I asked looking behind me towards Liam.

"Yes. You do. Now go!" Louis moaned.

I stuck my tongue playfully out at him, getting laughter from David beside me.

I looked down over the platform and into the land below. A small creek zig-zagged through the trees, flowing rapidly over the rocks due to the huge amount of rain we got last night. We were higher up than most of the tall pines that surrounded us. It was simply a small platform built into the side of a mountain.

I gulped before walking to the very edge, preparing myself to jump off. I looked back over my shoulder one more time, only to see Liam right behind me, urging me to go on.

"I'll be down there after you," he whispered into my ear, sending shivers up my spine.

I nodded my head vaguely before adjusting my feet. I felt my vision spin and my stomach churn as I looked at the scenery before me. I took one giant breath, before jumping off.

I felt the nervousness escalate in my body once I was in the air. I clung to the harness, my knuckles turning white. The rush of the wind made my blond hair flow back behind me, catching all sorts of debris in it.

I let out a high-pitched scream as I gained momentum. I managed to tense up my muscles a bit more, begging that this would be over soon.

I closed my eyes, wondering why I decided to do this. I've always hated heights, ever since I can remember I've hated them.
