Mikayla walked into the Great Hall with Hermione, Ron, Ginny and Harry, the five friends take their seats at the middle of the Gryffindor table. "I still can't believe that you went to see Grawp alone, and talked to the centaurs." Hermione spoke in disbelief and disapproval of Mikayla's actions earlier that day, which she filled her in with once she had freshened up. "I just needed to do something that would keep me busy, and I was able to heal Grawp's arrow injuries. As for the centaurs, it wasn't exactly intentional to come across them on my way back, I just did. They kept whispering to each other, that's why I got away as quick I could." Mikayla explains as she begins to pile up her food onto her plate, she tuned out of the conversation as she began to shovel food into her mouth, resembling Ron a little too much for her liking. She couldn't even tell you what she was eating, she was eating so quickly. At the shivering thought, she slowed down taking her time to chew to preventing herself from choking.
Mikayla felt an elbow nudge her own bringing her back into the room, she looked up at Ginny, who nodded her head towards Dumbledore, who was approaching his podium. "As you may have read in today's Daily Prophet, Sirius Black was killed on Thursday night by his cousin Bellatrix Lestrange. You have also seen that Sirius has been pronounced as innocent of all charges made against him fifteen years ago, unfortunately he never got the chance to celebrate his freedom.." Dumbledore announces, Mikayla could feel people's eyes fall on her, Ron squeezed her hand for comfort which Mikayla was very thankful for, she squeezed him a thanks as she listened to Dumbledore, "Sirius Black was always an outsider in his family, the first Gryffindor in a bloodline that was strictly Slytherin and the only member that wasn't a follower of Voldemort. Although, Sirius was always a troublemaker, he loved a good prank, he was speculated to be one of the people behind the Bat-Bogey Hex of 1972 that effected a whole class at Hogwarts." There was a sound of chuckles circulating through the Great Hall, "Sirius was strong, brave, extremely loyal to his friends and a Great Wizard." Mikayla smiled at her friends relating to Dumbledore's description of her dad immensely, they returned the smile, Harry's smile lingered slightly longer than the others as he felt there was a big similarity between him and Sirius.
"Sirius was adventurous and a bit mad in some ways," Dumbledore chuckled along with the foursome and Ginny, "but there was one thing for sure, when his daughter and Godson were born, there was nothing in the world he wouldn't do for them. Even risking his own life to save them from a group of Death Eaters..." A whisper rumbled through the hall, as Mikayla's eyes fell onto her hands that were slightly shaking, "and I now know that the feeling was mutual, Mikayla and Harry fought as hard as they could to save Sirius but they were simply bested by wizard's that have a lot more experience than them in duelling. I would like us to take a minute of silence for Sirius Black! A Gryffindor alumni, a part of this castles History and a great man." Then for what felt like hours, the whole of the hall was silent in the memory of the man who was murdered, Mikayla's dad, and Harry's godfather, the last of Mikayla's blood relation.
"As you are also aware of that the Ministry has finally excepted that Lord Voldemort is back and just because it's too late for Sirius, does not mean it's too late for you, to come together and fight as one. Now, I'd like to invite Miss Black to come up her and sing something as a goodbye for her dad." Mikayla slowly got up, her whole body trembled as she made her way to the piano. Dumbledore had gotten Brian and Wayne to move it into the Great Hall, and the mic was set up perfectly for the blonde, just before Dinner. Mikayla shook her hands in front of her as she took a deep breath, before she gently placed her fingers on the first keys. "1.. 2... 3."
Mikayla's eyes became glossy as tears formed, she was able to stop them from falling while she was singing. The second she sang the last line 'Next to you-ooh, you-oooh', a couple of tears rolled down her cheeks, as the hall filled with applause. Mikayla wiped her tears in her jumper as she quickly stood up and made her way back to her friends. Once she was in between Ginny and Hermione again, the two girls wrapped Mikayla up in a hug, it took everything Mikayla had not to burst into tears and just fall apart, right there in Ginny and Hermione's arms. When they pulled apart Mikayla sniffed as she wiped away the last of her tears that fell, she tried to refocus of what Dumbledore was saying after her song but she couldn't. Instead, Mikayla was just taking deep breaths as she held a self monologue in her mind, counting to ten and helping herself relax.
"You may all leave." Dumbledore announced, the air was then filled with the sound of scrapping benches, and footsteps. Mikayla slowly followed suit, her, Ginny and Hermione linking arms, as they weaved through the crowd. The three girls just talked about the summer, Mikayla informed them that she was going to Owl Fred and George and ask if they'd take her on for a Part-time job during the summer. Hermione told them that her parents are planning on going back to France for a couple of weeks, Ginny told them that she just can't wait for all the parties this summer, and attempt to ask Dean Thomas out. "I'm on the same wave link G, we'll see how everything works out with Fred this summer." Ginny giggles excitedly whilst Hermione beams at Mikayla, "I might try Ron too." Hermione whispers to the girls as they arrive at Gryffindor Tower. The girls were joined by Neville, Ron and Harry at the fire and the group of six just talked about random things for a couple of hours.
