Shy Waves We Share | Part 1

Hey. I'm Skylar. And this is my story of how Marcus and I, went from shy waves in the hallway, to..... You'll find out what we became, as I tell this story.....

~ 1 SUMMER AGO ~

"Hey Skylar! We're going to go to Katie's and Kyle's camp tonight!" My mother called from the kitchen,

"Yes!!!!!" I replied, always happy to spend some time in the woods with my best friend, Katie, and her little brother, Kyle. But mostly Katie.

Dinner was a blur, because all I could think about was going to Katie's for the evening. We all jumped into the car, a Santa Fe, and my dad put a case of beer into the hatch, and we got on our way to their camp. Which was about 45 minutes away. Being Canadians, we naturally looked for deer, and rabbits along the dirt road. We saw one buck, a 6 pointer. Then about 10 minutes later, we pulled into the short driveway of the camp, and I flung open the car door as soon as it was in 'Park', and rushed inside the small building to see Katie. I went inside, and found that Katie's family was there, and another family of 4. I sat down on the couch, next to Katie, and pulled my phone out. After a few seconds, I said in a jokingly tone:

"No WiFi, huh?" And we both laughed. I was showing her my recent screenshots, mostly funny tumblr posts, then came across pictures of celebrities, and we started rating them 1-10. Then I noticed that one of the guys from the other family, was looking at me, almost in a daze. And I whispered to Katie:

"Who's that who's staring at me?"

She giggled and replied:

"That's Marcus! He's my cousin, and I think he likes you!!" And we both started laughing like hyenas.

I looked Marcus straight in the eye, then I saw his gaze fall to the floor, in an act of embarrassment. Did he like me? Or was she just joking?
