Did he really like me? Or was she just joking?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I went home that night, filled with good laughter, and good memories. But mostly I was wondering about Marcus. Katie told me about Marcus before, but I never thought he liked me! I've seen him around, but he's at least a year older than me! And age difference is a big deal where I live. Its kind of freaking me out! An older guy, liking me! Wtf?! There's nothing to like about me! I'm so loud and annoying! I guess I'm still freaking out. My first ever boyfriend dumped me in February, and I wanted to be single, for a long time. Just so I can take a break. I don't need relationship shit on top of starting Junior High! I don't want a relationship, nor do I need one! Ugh, this is so frustrating! Why am I even THINKING about going out with him! Uggggghhhhh apparently, they are in the camp to the left of Katie's camp. I think about it the whole way home, and the whole night........
6 days later
Im going to Katie's again this afternoon. Maybe he won't be there. Maybe.....
When we pull into the driveway, I hop out of the car, and rush up the patio steps, and through the front door. I go in to find Katie and her mom, Darla, and Marcus's little sister, Sarah. Sarah and my little sister are good friends since our last visit, so they run outside together, to climb trees or something. I ask Katie,
"Wheres your dad and Kyle?"
"Starting a campfire for s'mores later, wanna see how they're doing?" She asks, "Its freaking HOT in here!" And she's right, its boiling. But not like being out in the sun will be any better.
We go out, and start walking towards Marcus's camp. I get nervous, then we come across a fire pit in between the two camps. They must share it. I'm relieved to find only Katie's father and Kyle at the campfire. Right after I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding in, Marcus steps out of the thick brush, carrying small branches to be used for kindling. He threw them down in a pile on the ground, and brushed off his coat. Then after him came a guy with dirty blonde hair, who did the same, wiping the peices of bark from his hoodie. I found out that Marcus's friend's name was Sam. Katie and I went to different elementary schools, but she went to Sam's elementary school, and I found out that Katie, Sam and I were going to be in the same homeroom class when school started in September. There was another guy, after that, who I had met once before through Scouting, Maxwell. After giving a "Hey," to Maxwell, and a shy wave to Sam and Marcus, we started making s'mores with Skippy peanut butter. And then Sam fed my dog, Sugar, peanut butter, and she was trying to get it off of the tip of her nose for the rest of the night. There was a hammock that was close to the fire, so close that if you swung it hard enough, the bottom of the hammock would be in the flames. Then the most awkardest thing happened......
I hit him....... In the face.... *sigh* with the hammock.......Yep.... That happened...
(Sorry for the short chapters, I'll try to write longer ones soon. Thanks for reading!)
