Nobody's POV:

It was a gut wrenchingly obnoxious screech that shook Bakugou to the core. In all his years of swordsmanship he'd never heard such a sound. His hands moved without his consent and cupped his ears.

He couldn't bear it any longer. He held himself together and gripped his sword tightly. With a swift slash, he tore right through the fiend's flesh and put an end to the agonizing screech. He was puzzled.

"What was that about?" He rubbed his temple, he was getting a headache. He stopped dead in his tracks, almost forgetting to grab the fiend's fragment and looked behind him with wide eyes.

A murder of crows soared above him, their squawking was incessant and Bakugou wasn't sure how much longer he could stand all of the noise. An eerie tension seeped into the atmosphere when suddenly all of the bright lanterns that littered the town burned out and all of the colorful banners draped around the city were stained a deep black.

This was precisely why Bakugou strictly only took day jobs.

He heard a loud growl coming from behind him and he quickly snapped his head in its direction screaming for Kirishima, but to no avail.

He looked towards the forest, once again screaming out the dragon shifter's name hysterically with trembling legs that seemed as though they were on the verge of failing him and caving in.

Two figures presented themselves, long robes swaying in the strong breeze and short hair like his. They were his parents. But something was wrong, their eyes glowed red with a blazing hot hatred towards something that Bakugou didn't recognize.

"What is it?" His shaky voice was barely audible. His wrist made a cracking sound and begun to twist in unnatural ways. Bakugou let out a scream while he realized that the vengeful hue in their eyes was directed at him. That only made the pain all the more insufferable.

After getting a closer look he noticed that their skin was a nasty combination of pale white and blue, their veins bulged against their odd pigmentations while Bakugou stared at them with widened eyes and backed up the best he could.

"Agh!" He cried, he couldn't push himself up in his condition. Soon enough his ankles suffered the same fate as his wrist, they begun to crack and twist, he was unable to move. The bile from his stomach rose to his throat and he threw up on his clothes.

"M-mom, dad?"

Bakugou shot up in a cold sweat, his breathing grew so erratic that he woke Kirishima up. The dragon shifter popped up with a groan and glared at Bakugou.

"Wha-" Kirishima paused when he saw Bakugou's face. He was red and burning hot with beads of sweat trickling down his jawline and strands of hair clinging to his lips.

Moreover, he looked as though he was about to vomit Kirishima panicked a little and got up to fetch Bakugou a wet rag.

"Stay here" he ordered, intent on curing Bakugou's fever before it became serious. Bakugou gripped onto Kirishima's arm, his rosy complexion, too noticeable to ignore.

"Don't go." Was all he said. Kirishima sat back down and pulled him in for a hug, cradling his head while running blistered hands through his soft hair.

"I won't" he reassured, looking down at the boy in his arms and pulling him closer. When he saw Bakugou in this state his urge to protect him at all costs definitely resurfaced. He held the feverish boy as tightly as he could.

"I won't" he repeated. Bakugou's strong hands clawed at his back and clinched on tightly. It hurt a little bit but Kirishima didn't move.

Bakugou fell asleep in his arms.

The sun creeped its way into the drapes on the window and lit up the cabin. Bakugou groaned, rubbing his head. And stared down at Kirishima who was completely knocked out.

He felt cold, and jittery his fever had begun to break.

"That was fast..." he muttered to himself, getting up to bathe in the stream. He liked to go at the crack of dawn, he usually tried his best to bathe before it became to hot.

Normally he urged Kirishima to join him but this particular morning, he left the dragon shifter to his own devices. He looked to peaceful to bother.

Bakugou walked outside, the crisp air hit him almost immediately and he smiled. The sun had only begun to rise and a purplish blue hue decorated the scenery.

Bakugou stripped himself of his robes and threw them to the side, first dipping his feet in the stream to test the temperature of the water and then jumping in with a splash and submerging his head in the water.

His body felt hot now, his legs ached as if the weather was about to change (AN: Does that happen to anyone else too?) he groaned and ran a finger through his knotted hair.

"Dammit." He cursed, he would have to go to the market again today and buy a comb. He'd finally gotten a day off from work so he assumed it wouldn't be too much of a hassle.

"Hey Bakugou!" He heard Kirishima shout from behind him. Bakugou jumped, he'd been so engaged in his own thoughts that he didn't even hear the red-head coming.

"Fuck! Don't scare me like that!" Bakugou screeched. Seriously, even with all of the twigs and leafs that Kirishima would have had to step on to get to him he didn't make a sound.

"Haha, sorry! I just wanted to ask you if we could go somewhere today, I mean it's your day off and-" Bakugou chuckled Kirishima's voice was so deep that it was cute to see him flustered.

"Yeah, sure. I needed to buy a comb and get a few things anyways." Bakugou agreed with a smile. Kirishima looked awestruck, since when did Bakugou look so- soft?

"Alright! I'll go get ready then!" Kirishima hopped into the stream and stood close to Bakugou. His fever had subsided for the most part but his vision was still hazy and his mind wasn't quite there.

"I just noticed that you have little freckles..." Bakugou said without thinking "they're cute." He added before pulling himself out of the stream and leaving a burning-red Kirishima by himself to reflect.

"He...thinks I'm cute?" Kirishima repeated to himself touching his flushed-red cheek that was in fact, littered with small freckles that weren't that noticeable unless you'd been looking close enough at his face to tell.

That left him to wonder, how long had Bakugou been staring at him before he spoke up?

Just the thought made his stomach do somersaults.

_______

To be honest I just adore the concept of a heavyset, kinda clueless Kirishima falling in love with Bakugou and like worshiping him lol. The whole dynamic is adorable to me -w-
