Mateo's POV

"Boss..."

I sigh knowing I'm about to receive bad news. I look at Chase directly so he knows I'm ready. Usually he calls me boss when he is scared. Hell, I would be afraid too of the Don but Chase and I have known each other since we were kids. His family has served my family for years and he's following the footsteps of his father. When we first met we didn't like each other. I hated him and he wasn't fond of me either. Puto. But then we became best friends when we both got regretted by the same girl at a party when we were 11 years old. I think back at how we bonded. We hyped one another saying we don't need her. Our parents were glad since Chase was gonna be by my side as my right hand man. They were worried that Chase and I wouldn't be able to work together. Chase coughs to get my attention as he can tell I'm beginning to get side tracked.

"Sorry carry on to what you were saying."

"I wanted to talk to you about Alex."

I roll my eyes and was pissed off.

He goes on, "There are rumors going around on how Alex is becoming stronger than you. I wanted to inform you that they are sending out large shipments and they could be working with the Russians in which that is helping them by-"

"Chase, I know how that could be helping them. It seems that we must do something to put those rumors down...is that what you wanted to hear? Also, I thought we were compromising with the Russians so they could join us?"

"I guess Alex got to them first because I haven't received an answer and they denied for us to go visit to negotiate. I have been on it to see what Alex is planning. It's hard to gain information since they are good at hiding information but if we were to send some spies."

My eyes widened. Send spies? That would be too dangerous. Alex is becoming stronger and he seems to be very skilled since no one has ever seen this man or has proof of his work. It as if he doesn't exist. No one even knows his last name. They just know he is named Alex.

"And how do you intend we do that? How could we send some of my men to spy when we don't know where Alex is hiding at? No one has ever even seen this man."

"It's funny. No one knows how Alex looks like but they are always recruiting men and women. Don't get mad...but I sent three men already and they have been with Alex and on his territory for a few days now."

The fuck did he just say to me?

"Did I hear you correctly? Did you just say that you sent three men over without telling me? Without telling the Don?"

"Mateo, relax. I sent three men who aren't any importance to us. I made sure that they are safe and communicate with me each day. So far all is good. They don't suspect a thing. The three men I sent was Chris, Hamilton, and I forgot the other guys name..."

"Okay. So we have spies now what? And how did they just get in? How did you find Alex's location?"

"I couldn't find his exact location but while I was at a bar I overheard someone mention Alex's name. I'm guessing it was a man recruiting because he was meeting with another guy and asking him about his son to join Alex. They were a little loud but then they noticed me and went to a more private area."

"My bar? How did my people let those two through?"

Looks like I will have to pay a visit and teach my employers a lesson later...

"I'm not sure but they are brave to go to another Don's bar. I guess to cover up more and be less suspicious. But I found out that the way they recruit is by going out and finding people.
