Thirst

CH. 1

Bangkok was a nice town, and we were all proud to say that we had the lowest amount of crimes here, but that was until the Balefines showed up. I don’t like to make assumptions, but I don’t believe in coincidences either. So I know that something is going on with them. Luckily for me I’ll get to meet them today at me school.

Vlad is here to take me to school. Vlad is my best friend, we’ve been friends since forever. I normally drive myself, but my car broke down and my parents don’t feel like having it fixed until next week.

I said good bye to my mother and walked out to Vlad’s car. I got in waiting to see his bright, happy face.

“What’s up Ambrosia?” Vlad asks.

“Nothing much. I just can’t wait to meet the Balefines.” I said.

“Wait, please don’t tell me that you are planning on befriending them. You’ve heard the rumors, right?” Vlad asks.

“Vladdy that’s why I want to befriend them. I want to know everything that they know. That’s why I joined the welcoming committee.” I said.

“Well you are the only one on that committee.” Vlad says.

“That’s why I know all the juicy gossip. Don’t act like you’re not intrigue by the Balefines. I’ll tell you everything I know later.” I said as he starts the car up.

“Just be careful. They aren’t good people.” Vlad says pulling into the school parking lot.

“You worry too much.” I said patting his cheek, “See you at lunch.” I opened the car door walked to the front office of my school.

“Hi Ambrosia.” Mrs. Green chirps wearing her trademark smile.

“Good morning Mrs. Green. When will the new kids show up?” I asked.

“The Balefines?” Mrs. Green asks.

“Yes them.” I said flipping my long hair over my shoulder.

“Soon. You might as well sit down and wait for them hun.” Mrs. Green says.

“Alright.” I said taking a seat on one of the benches. I pull out one of my books to pass the time.

Magnus Pov.

I’m a vampire, not a human. There is no reason for me to have to go to school, but I have to fit in with normal society.

“Drive any slower and we’ll be late. Next time we’re taking my car.” I complained.

“Mag take a chill pill. For someone that doesn’t want to attend school you sure are in a rush to get there.” Silvia my sister says smirking at me.

“Well being late draws more attention to us. Why can’t we drive our own cars?” I said.

“We can’t have show too much of our wealth or we won’t fit in. Us bringing three is already too much.” Silvia says.

“Well I hate how you drive” I mumble pushing my seat all the way back.

“Oh yeah I almost forgot. I had a vision about you yesterday.” Silvia says smiling at me.

“What was it about?” I asked suddenly interested.

“I can’t tell you. You might try to change it.” Silvia says.

“Can you at least tell me one thing?” I plead.

“Fine it involves a cute girl.” She said.

“I don’t like humans.” I said rolling my eyes.

“Well you will love her.” Silvia says, “Oops I already said too much.”

“Hahaha no. I only see human as something to eat not love. Maybe I’ll keep one as a pet.” I said.

“You are so mean.” Silvia says parking her car in the schools parking lot.

So I have 7 brothers and sisters. My four sisters are named; Silvia, Isabella, Jezebel,  and Sophie. My three brothers are named; Markus, Miguel, and Manuel. And I make eight. My parents like m names for boys. But they got lazy when it came to the girls. They had a lot of kids and when we all go out as a family they look like our siblings too. We all decided to stop aging at 18. My parents decided that before we were born, but it’s hard for them to change their minds, and it would take them a long time to get to an appropriate parent age. So they will just stay 18 for the rest of their immortality.

“Do you know where we go?” Markus asks tapping on the car window.

“No.” Silvia says opening the car door.

“Let’s just hurry.” I said exiting the car.

“Maybe the main entrance.” Miguel mumbles. He’s the quiet one. We normally hang out.

“That’s smart.” Jezebel says, “Let’s go.”

“Yeah let’s go to hell guys.” I mumbled following her lead.

“Brighten up lad.” Manuel says.

“No I agree with Magnus. This is hell.” Isabella says.

“Are you guys the Balefines?” A out of breath woman asks.

“Yes we are. Who are you?” Markus asks. Markus is a take charge guy. He handles our affairs mostly when our parents don’t. He’s very protective.

“I’m Mrs. Green. I work at the office. Come on I have someone waiting to show you around.” Mrs. Green says leading us to the office, “Ambrosia they are here.”

Who’s Ambrosia? What does she have to do with us?

“Hi! I’m Ambrosia. I’m a junior and the head of the welcome committee. So if you have any questions you can ask me. Let’s start off with your names.” Ambrosia says. She’s too happy for me. She talks too much. At least she’s pretty.

“I’m Markus.”  Markus says trying to sound seductive.

“I’m Silvia and that’s Miguel. He doesn’t talk much.” Silvia says motioning towards Miguel.

“I’m Manuel, beautiful.” Manuel says winking at Ambrosia.

“I’m Magnus.” I said coolly.

Then Silvia whispers to me, “That’s the girl in my vision.”

“I’m Jezebel and that’s Isabelle.” Jezebel says motioning at Isabelle.

“And I’m Sophie! I feel like we are going to get along.” Sophie exclaims.

“Do you guys have any questions, before we start the tour?” Ambrosia asks. She is so annoying. With her high pitched voice, the way she moves her shoulders and her face when she talks. The annoying smile she has on her face. She is beautiful I give her that. She is the kind of beautiful that someone should make a big deal out of, but I won’t. I feel like she’s the human version Sophie. Sophie is always moving around acting like an airhead and Ambrosia does just that. But I do wonder if Ambrosia is human or not, because Ambrosia means immortal in the vampire world, but at the same time it means something sweet. So I don’t know.
