The Second Chance

Chapter One

Alone, lost and scared she thought to her self I can't do it anymore she grabbed the pills out of her bathroom, sat on her bed and thought, am I really gonna go through with this, has it really got to that point. Yes, yes it had and Summer had her mind made up she was gonna do it, she couldn't take it months and months everything has been piling up with her she had her breaking point and this was the last straw. She looked at the bottle and said here we go she downed the bottom and then took a big drink of water form the side of her bed. She laid there until she would fall asleep and never wake up again

"Damn it" she said as she walked into her bathroom she looked in the mirror how am I alive she thought. She walked back out of the bathroom and saw her body laying on the bed she was speech less, what was happing she thought?

"Summer breakfast is ready" her mom yelled form down stairs

"Mom I don't know what's happing but you have to come here now" I yelled at the top of my lungs

"Damn it Summer your gonna be late" Summer's mom yelled as she walked up the stairs

"She's gonna find you, you know" Some voice said behide me, I turned slowly afraid of what to see, nothing was there as I turn around I saw this elderly women that looked like my grandma. My grandma and I were really close we used to do everything together until she passed away last year because of old age.

"Grandma?" I said confused

"Yes baby it's me" my grandma said as she gave me a hug

"What's going on, why am I here grandma"

"Honey, you know what you did" my grandma said as she looked at my body laying there, lifeless

"Summer you need to get up" my mom said as she walked over to me

"Summer come on get up" she said as she started to tap me
"Summer" concern filled her voice

"I'm sorry mom " I said as I wiped a tear form my eye

"Honey she can't hear you, you're dead "my grandma said as she grabbed my shoulder

"Why is she in so much pain?" I said as my mom grabbed me and started hugging me my grandma looked at me with a surprised look

She started looking around she picked up the pills
"Summer why would you do this?" She said as she started crying.

"John" my mom yelled as she pulled me in asking me why I did this.

"It's not the right time for you my dear and I honestly think that you didn't really want this and you rushed into this I will give you a week to see the fault in your final decision and I wish the best luck for you my dear" my grandma said as she started to walk in to the light

"Wait grandma I don't understand" I said confused. Waiting her to stay wondering why she didn't tell me to come with her

"Honey it's not your time only two people can see you the ones who were true to you" my grandma said as she disappeared into the light

"Wait what does that mean? Who can see me? Grandma?" I yelled after her; anger filled me as the thought that she left me here. I was so confused on what to do. Who can see me? Why isn't it my time? I'm dead right? Why am I not in heaven right now? Everything is just even more confusing then it was before.

My dad John hastened in, I turned my head to see his reaction to my lifeless body in my mothers arms
"Jane what is it..." his voice broke in silence as he saw my mom Jane holding me crying and the empty pill bottle next to us. "Don't just stand there call 911" Jane yelled as she started to cry harder and shook her head at me as if she was asking me why.
"Hello 911 yes it my daughter she took all these pills and she's not breathing and I.. We don't "he stopped talking and started to cry tears rushed down his face he tried to pull himself together for the sake of his wife, but it was useless.

"No" I yelled after them. Why were they so hurt? They never act like they care why start now? Anger, regret, sadness all hit me at once I didn't understand what was happing why I was here or what was going on everything started to blur. The embulince showed up and took me away my mom and dad cried and my little sister Ellie didn't understand what was going on all she knew was that I had to go to the hospital, my older bother was clueless as it looked like he just woke up.

"What's going on" Dylan asked looking concerned.

"I'll call you when we know something, watch Ellie until we get back "
Mother yelled form the car

"Do you know what's going on" Dylan asked Ellie and then the small silence broke when Ellie spoke "something's wrong with Summer". "Well we better go inside and wait for mom and dad to call than" Dylan said as they back walked back into the house.
