Madeline was only ten when her life turned upside down, she never had many friends, and the friends she did have... They weren't very close at all. Madeline felt all alone, an outcast in a world of people who wanted nothing more than to fit in. "Madeline it's just hormones" her mother would say, it sure as hell didn't feel like hormones now.
Back then things were easier, nice compared to now. Now her life had taken a one-eighty and turned into complete chaos, she never wanted this, none of it, and now, she would escape this hell, finally...Madeline, age nineteen, living with her mother, her younger brother, her step-father, and her cat Lunar. Things see pretty good? Yes?... Wrong, things were horrible, Madeline was on the verge of her breaking point.
"This is it" Madeline said softly, the blade to her neck. "This is where all this misery ends, I'm done" and with that, she dug the blade in, and ripped it over, and she fell, and fell, never ending.
She didn't quite recall it being painful, just, numb, dull, and bleak. It was, quiet? Yes quiet. And now she couldn't remember where she was. At home, in her bed, in the store? Being laughed at? It felt all too still.
That day, the one day? Didn't she end it, she did right?
Madeline felt as if she was drowning, suddenly being yanked into emotions. But this wasn't right, didn't she end it?
Something was wrong, Madeline knew it. But as the warm fuzzy feeling in her head disappeared she was in her room, laying in bed, the ceiling fan slowly turning and the shades up. When had this happened? When she withdrew from her sheets and sat up, she heard her mother. "She was a good baby girl, I don't understand." "Mom?" She mumbled, her tone shaking with emotion. None of this all made sense. As Madeline reached for her cellphone she heard a click, and her door swung open. "Where is that little bitch?"
Oh god it was Lucas. The man who ruined Madeleine's life. Her gut tightened, "why are you here asshole"
