Amias stepped into the light with a grunt, his ears flicking back in annoyance at the spots of sunlight that flashed his eyes through the blackened clouds of smoke. Behind him a distant loud thudding got closer from the cave he'd emerged from, The ground shaking with each step and causing the nearby lava pools to become bothered. It was a rather hot area, the ground covered in Basalt and ash, the sky hardly visible from all the smoke that rose from the magma. And Downhill a few magnorites were getting ready to leave, possibly from a break...

The ardoni grumbled quietly as he watched, waving away the annoying swirls of fire potion leaving his body, their bright glow disturbing his vision momentarily. Though he shouldn't complain, the potion was the only thing keeping him from loosing it in the blistering heat, no wonder only magnorites come here...
Speaking of which, amias turned his head lazily and spotted the large beast emerge from the cave, only giving him a small not, his lips barely twitching into what can be assumed as a smile.

"Are we leaving?" The Moonlit known as Soot had asked, sitting down next to the ardoni and scratching behind his horns.

"Yeah, This potion will only last so much longer so we gotta go unless you want steamed Ardoni."

Soot nodded and shrugged, slowly getting up and leaning into the downward dog position, allowing Amias to climb onto his back and rest between the one spot his spikes parted and left a flat plating of hardened magma. When his companion was seated firmly on his back he stood up properly again and began walking down the hill, keeping his head up to watch out for anyone (or thing) that may be nearby.

"It's clear, come on."
Amias patted Soot's shoulder and he took off into a sprint, travelling downwards from the hill they'd come from and into the flatter plains where it seemed to become cooler which was a relief as he could feel the fire potion wear off by then. He ducked down closer to Soot's back, looking around as pillars of basalt and rock passed them in the flash, slowly becoming smaller and smaller as they continued on until the murky grey ground turned into a lush green and they were now in the plains.

Few trees could be seen for miles around so Soot came to a slow trot, slowly raising his head to take a look around the tall grass, It had come up to his shoulders at this point. His tail swung side to side wearily when he began to walk forward through the grass, watching his feet as fox traps were known to be hidden in tall grass like this.

The two bit by bit made their way cross the plains and into the trees, leading them into a large trail that looked as if it hadn't been used in ages, grass grew into the trail, a few vines even creeping underneath their feet.

"I've never seen this trail around here before,"
Amias stated, gently patting Soot's side and he began to walk forward.

"Maybe it was too well hidden, look at all the trees. Didn't you say you only travelled this forests trails at night?" Soot replied with a knowing smile, causing Amias to roll his eyes and chuckle.

"Yeah, you're right. Besides, I use the trails closer towards the centre, this one's nearly on the outside!..."

Amias took in a breath of air and smiled, his ears perking up at the sounds of birds nearby, even picking up on the very faint sound of footsteps and he stopped. He looked at Soot when he also stopped, the moonlit sniffing at the air before letting out a growl, taking a glance at his ardoni friend.

Amias sighed and he slowly climbed off Soot, managing to catch the rumbling of his stomach and he shook his head.

"Go on, I'll follow along."

Amias hardly had a chance to finish his sentence before Soot ran off with a howl, chasing this prey he'd gotten the scent of.

Amias watched after him for a few seconds, waiting until he heard that familiar sickening crunch before continuing inward. If he was honest, he'd become used to it. It was one of the many flaws with his friends with Soot but he dealt with it. Until they found a cure, they'd make due with Soot's newfound ability to eat and get hungry.. and being this hulking beast.

As the ardoni stepped into the bushes he was immediately hit with the overwhelming scent of blood, and deer. He simply watched as Soot ate and chomped on his food, occasionally looking away impatiently, "are you almost done?..."

Soot grunted, taking one last mouthful before pulling away and turning to Amias with a saddened look, purring when he received a reassuring pat to his cheek.

"Come on, Voltaria is a long ways away"
