I looked down at my phone and then back up at the name on the building. Stivers and Silverstein, Attorneys at Law. I took a deep breath and then walked inside. Here goes nothing.

There was a blonde, big breasted lady sitting at the desk near the front door. "Hello? Welcome to Stivers and Silverstein. How can I help you?"

I nodded, "Yeah, I uh, My name is Riella Suarez. I have an appointment with Mr. Silverstein." She looked at her computer and started typing a few things. "Okay, yes I see your appointment. Have a seat and I'll get Mr. Silverstein for you." "Okay thank you." I sat down in one of the chairs in the lobby. This place was really fancy looking. Their ad online said that they take pro-bono cases if they deem it as a winning case. So I decided it was worth checking out.

After a few minutes went by the lady walked back out and a tall white guy with a head full of grey hair walked out with her. He scanned the lobby and smiled really hard once his eyes landed on me. He was wearing a really fancy suit and shoes that made a noise when they hit the floor like he was wearing a pair of heels or something. He walked right up to me and stretched out his hand to me. I jumped up and shook his hand. "You must be Rella?" "Um, actually it's Riella." "I'm sorry. My apologies Riella. Thank you for choosing Stivers and Silverstein. Follow me to my office so that we can talk." I nodded, "Okay."

As we walked past the front desk he leaned over and whispered to the receptionist, "Brittany, push all of my appointments back an hour please." She nodded and gave me a weird look. Like she was uneasy or something. But not uneasy for herself, but for me. "Yes Mr. Silverstein." Then he moved so that I couldn't see her anymore and placed his hand on my waist. "Right this way babygirl."

I frowned at the little nickname he said, but I dismissed it and walked with him to his office. Once we were in his office I took a seat in one of the chairs in front of his desk. He closed the door behind us and walked over to sit at his desk. "So, Riella, what's the case?" I nodded and pulled out Oscar's paperwork. "The defendant is my friend, Oscar Diaz." He started scanning the paperwork. Then he peered over the papers at me, "Is this your boyfriend?" I shook my head, "No, he's just my friend."

He nodded and stroked his chin. "Oscar seems to have gotten himself involved in some pretty serious stuff."

"Sir, I honestly don't think that Oscar is responsible for all of this. I think that he was set up."

He laughed a little. "Honey, what does Oscar do for a living?" I didn't answer. He was a full time gang member, but I couldn't say that. "He takes care of his brother full time." He nodded, "And to provide for his brother, he does what?" I avoided his eyes. He sighed and placed the papers down on the desk. "You realize that everything is stacked against him right? Oscar is a gang member, right?" I looked back at him and nodded my head slightly.

He sighed out loud and stood up from his desk.

Here it goes. He's going to tell me that there is no chance for Oscar and that I've wasted my time and his. Then he walked over and sat down on his desk. Somewhat in front of me. It made me a little uncomfortable because of how close he had gotten to me. "Look Riella?" "Yes?" "I've seen lots of cases like this. Oscar is going to need a really good lawyer or he's going to probably go to jail for a really long time. Is that what you want?"

I shook my head, "No, that's why I'm here. I want to do whatever we have to do to get him out." He nodded his head, "That's good." Then he stood up and walked behind me. He rested his hands on my shoulders. "With my expertise I can probably get him another bail hearing and probably get him out on house arrest or something." I smiled, "That would be amazing." Then he started to massage my shoulders. "Do you know how much a lawyer costs in the state of California honey?"

I swallowed and shook my head. "Your ad said that you take some pro bono cases." He let out a small chuckle. "Not for these type of cases." He walked back over to his desk and stood back in front of me. He pulled at his pants, pulling them up. "What exactly are you willing to do for Oscar Riella?" I frowned up and sat back in the chair. "Excuse me? What are you asking me?" He leaned over and ran a finger down my thigh.

This made me so uncomfortable and nervous. My eyes immediately started to tear up. I didn't like being put in unwelcome positions. I swallowed my spit and started to look at the door. "Riella? Did you hear me?"

I didn't answer him. I just wanted to leave.

"The longer you take to figure things out, the longer Oscar is going to be behind bars. Possibly fighting for his life."

I looked down, searching the ground and trying to figure out my next move. "So what is it going to be beautiful? I know you can't afford a real lawyer yourself. I can do this case for you, but I'm going to need something from YOU in return."

I shook my head and jumped up, "No thanks."

He grabbed my wrist and held me in place. "Think about this Riella. What else are you going to do? Huh? You could get Oscar out tomorrow. All you have to do is have dinner with me tonight." I looked into his eyes and I could see that same disgusting look of lust that was in that man's eyes that day that I was almost raped.

I pulled my knee up fast and knee'd him directly between his leg. He doubled over in pain and let me go so that he could hold his crotch. "You're fucking disgusting puto." I spit on him as he fell to the ground, reached over and grabbed Oscar's paperwork and ran out of that office as fast as I could.

The receptionist didn't say anything when I ran past her. She had a terrified look on her face and almost seemed relieved that I was leaving.

How many girls had he done this to? Had he done this to the receptionist too? How many more lawyers were like him?

Once I made it to the parking lot I stopped and broke down. I started crying hard. I wasn't making any progress on getting Oscar out of jail. I couldn't do this without a lawyer, I knew that. But I wasn't going to sell myself to get a lawyer to do their damn job.
