Chapter 4

Arsela's POV

I laid on my bed staring at the white colored ceiling above and the golden chandelier that was in the middle of the ceiling. It looked beautiful. This whole place was beautiful... It had this urban accent like the one I watch in some TV shows but never before had I pictured myself to be in one of this places before.

Yang Bao and Chang Mi were on my bed too seated cross legged both facing me.

"Uncle Deaton is related to Mother and I plus Aunt Morells.. Why can't they take the responsibility?". I asked as I sat up to look at them.

"Oh that's because being the rulers of Gore isn't their destiny. Deaton and Morell also don't have any air bending power so they were gifted with other powers". Chang Mi explained.

"What you mean is that every baby is born with different powers here?". I asked.

They both nodded.

"Not all babies with air bending parents gain that power, they are either blessed with other powers or none.." Yang Bao said. "Deaton and Morells are druids, people with extra knowledge of the supernatural and are great advisors, druids are the best counselors a kingdom can have".

I nodded at that. So that means I was so lucky to be born with the powers or else, there would be no future ruler in Gore.

"But what happens if there is no future ruler?". I asked.

"The gods will choose a new one.. We all know that as a ruler, he or she must have all the four air bending powers from the four bending nations so as to practise balance and equality among the people". Chang Mi explained.

I took a deep breathe. My whole family; Grandpa, Grandma, Mother and I were born with all four bending powers. Meaning we we're chosen? All leaders are chosen anyways, right?.

"I have this feeling that you are going to be more than just a queen... More than just the Queen of the air benders.." Yang Bao said as she reached for my hand.

Chang Mi did the same with my free hand. "I don't know what... But I also feel the same". She said with a small smile.

"Anyways, do you like it here? I know you're homesick". Yang Bao said as her smile widened.

"Are you kidding me? I don't like it here... I LOVE IT HERE". I yelled excitedly. "I miss my mom though". I added.

"Cool... Don't worry about your mom she's okay and besides, she must be here for your ceremony". Chang Mi said.

"Oh and those books over there, you have to read them.. Most are historical books which will help you in the knowledge of Gore and other super natural creatures". Yang Bao said while pointing at the desk that held a few books on top.

"Do you know that no one has ever stepped foot in the library in this floor?". Chang Mi asked. I shook my head. How could I have known and I've never been here before?.

"This floor was set aside when you were born and the books in your library have been passed down from the rulers before to you... Whenever this floor needed cleaning, the queen would always supervise to make sure that nothing was tampered with and that nothing was missing". Yang Bao explained further.

Why would they do that?. As if Chang Mi was reading my mind...

"The books in the library hold secrets of the kingdom and crucial information that we can't risk for outsiders to lay their hands on... The library is not only sound proof but it is surrounded by an invisible magic barrier... No books can get out of the library with the barrier around... Actually this whole castle is surrounded by a magic barrier, no intruder can attack us unless they use one of us to get in".
