"So is this going to be your first time in L.A.?" Ellington asks me.

"Yep, I'm moving into an apartment today. How about you?" I say.

"I live here. I was just visiting my grandparents in Wisconsin,"

He does this cute smile where he crinkles his face together right before he looks at me and says,

"Meow"

This makes me laugh my face off foe a few minutes before replying with,

"Woof"

We both sit there laughing for at least five minutes. It's only been a little bit silence I left and I'm already making new friends.

I reach into my carry on luggage and pull out a notebook and a pencil. I have been writing for about three seconds when Ellington looks over my shoulder and says,

"What'cha doin'"

"I'm writing a book about a boy who is really annoying and is driving a girl insane," I say.

"I'm serious!"

"Fine, it's my ski journal. It's where I record everything I know about skiing. I have sections on basics, and tricks, etcetera etcetera. Right now I'm writing down some goals I have for the more challenging runs."

"That sound cool! How 'bout we swap numbers and you can call me up this winter and try to teach me some new things about skiing," We swap numbers and Ellington starts talking about his life. He says that he and his friends, the Lynch's, surf, play hockey, go tubing, and do lots of other stuff. I think he says something about being a drummer in a band with the Lynch's, but I am starting to zone off. That happens to me when I wake up before six and need to sit in the same chair for hours. I fall asleep thinking about the conversations I had with Ellington and realize that he's a pretty good guy. The word 'Meow' was the last thing I thought of before I fell asleep.

I wake up to Ellington singing Call Me Maybe right in my ear.

"What was that for!?" I yell at him.

"I needed to wake you up. We're almost there,"

"What do you mean? It feels like we've only been on for like..."

I stop talking when I look out the window. I'm awestruck by the. Huge body of water I see. The Pacific Ocean is glittering greenish blue and goes on further then the eye can see. The city has its own charm that I instantly fall in live with. The beaches and piers are absolutely beautiful.

"You live here?" I asked.

"Yep, and I can't wait until I see Kelly again,"

Wait, who's this Kelly chick and what does she have to do with Ellington? Answering my unspoken question he says,

"Kelly is my girlfriend. She had to stay here for school and work and I really missed her,"

Any thought I had of possibly dating Ellington was blown away in the wind. I guess I'm fine with that. He's cute and hilarious, but I don't think he was the guy for me.

"Please put up your tray tables and fasten your seat belts. We are preparing to land." Says the intercom.

"Because if you don't you will fly forward and impale yourself on a tray table," I Add in a mocking voice. I can tell they Ellington is holding back a laugh.

"I'm serious. Do you want your gravestone to say 'I was killed by a tray table'?" I say still In a joking tone.

"Of course not! My gravestone will say that my mustache was too awesome for my face to handle and I died." Of course all of this starts a huge conversation about mustaches and gravestones that lasts until we realize that the plane is unloading.

I swear I take ten steps into the airport before I get lost. It's huge compared to Madison's airport and its only the second one I've ever been to. I would have probably been locked in there overnight if Ellington didn't find me. We walk to the luggage belt together where I wait for like 15 minutes for my bags to arrive. I start walking away when this serious looking middle aged woman starts chasing me yelling that I stole her stuff. I really did have her luggage but it was an accident. We get this straightened out and I get my real bags.

I'm calling for a taxi when I hear Ellington shouting at me.

"Wait, you didn't think you could get rid of me without saying goodbye did you?"

"Of course not! See you later!" I say and then start singing Cinema as I walk to my cab.

"You are a cinema, I'll watch you forever," I sing. I hear Ellington yell,

"Stalker!" at me right as I get in my cab and take off towards my new home.
