~Rober's POV~
I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing. I looked at the time and cursed whoever it was that was calling me at this time of the morning.
“Robert Wilson.” I said not hiding the anger in my voice.
"Robert, this is Mr. Brookes.” I straightened up immediately. I scrunched up my face because what the hell was the CEO of our company calling me for?
“Sir, is there a problem? Do you need me to come in?” I asked worried.
“No. and you wouldn’t need to after the Christmas break is over either.” What? No, this couldn’t happen. “I expect your letter of resignation by the end of the day.” He sounded so calm.
“May I ask why?”
“We have a source that has informed us of your homosexual activities. We cannot condone such behavior at our firm. I thought you were better than this.” He said as if I was a boy disappointing his father.
“You’re firing me because of my dating preferences? You have no right to do that. I’ll sue you for unfair dismissal.” I yelled at him through the phone.
He scoffed. “Good luck finding a lawyer that will take your side.” He hung up after that and I’m pretty sure that bastard had a smug grin the size of Texas plastered on his face.
“You fucking son of a bitch!” I yelled to nobody. “You’re going to pay. I’ll sweep your company under the mat you sly good for nothing prick!”
I stood up from the bed and put on a pair of jeans and pulled a t-shirt and jacket.
I grabbed my keys from the dresser and walked out into the hallway. The lights were all off as everyone was still asleep. I walked as softly as I could to the front of the house and opened the door. I ran to my car and prayed to God that it wouldn’t rain today. I drove to the nearest twenty-four hour liquor store and parked my car in one of the empty spaces.
“A bit early isn’t it?” the man behind the counter said. I put the vodka bottle on the counter and glared at the man.
“That’s none of your business. Just shut up and do your job.”
I walked out with the brown bad and put it on the seat next to me. I wasn’t going to be stupid and drink and drive. That would mess up my baby. That was one sacrifice that I was not willing to give in to.
Three quarters of the bottle and two hours later I was fighting to keep my eyes open. What I was surprised with was the fact that I could still think and that I wasn’t dead already. I succeeded at standing up after many tried and walked- more like tumbled- back to my car. I must have been sitting in some abandoned park. I couldn’t remember anymore. I reached into my pocket and fumbled with my car keys. I dropped them and reached down to pick them up only to fall quite a number of times. I gave up on the car and started walking in any general direction that looked good at the moment.
It wasn’t too long before I found myself knocking on a dorr saying something that not even I could understand.
The door opened and I fell forward. “What the hell? Robert?”
