Ch 6- Caught In The Act

~SHANE’S POV~

 We get off the bus and walk to Joey’s house.

 “How far is your house from here?” I ask him.

 “About five minutes if you’re walking. Three minutes if you’re jogging.”

 “What? That’s too far for a freaking bus stop. You might as well just walk to school then.”

 We make it to his house in five minutes. Exactly like he said. That’s when I realize something.

 “Wait. Your house is right down the street from mine.”

 “Really?”

 “Yeah. My bus stop is way closer. Tomorrow instead of going left, go right and just keep going straight until you see a stop sign. That’s where my bus stop is.”

 “I guess I have a new bus stop now.”

 “And I guess I have a new neighbor to annoy 24/7.”

 “Oh god” he rolls his eyes and opens the unlocked door, stepping inside with me following close behind.

 “Mom! I’m home! I’ve got a friend with me so don’t bother us!” he yells while walking up the stairs.

 Damn. He’s so straightforward with his mother.

 We walk up stairs and stop in front of a door all the way at the end of the hall before actually entering it. Joey throws his backpack onto a beanbag chair in the corner and plops down onto his bed, taking off his jacket in the process.

 “Does your mom mind me being here without asking?” I ask, sitting down next to him on the queen size bed.

 "No. She’s cool with it. She just doesn’t want me to have girls over.”

 “Why?”

 “Because she thinks I’m going to take them to my room and make-out with them and as you saw earlier, when I kiss someone, they die.”

 “But aren’t you gay?”

“Yeah, but my mom doesn’t know. Actually no one knows but you and that’s because you won’t get out of my freaking head!”

 “I can’t help it! I don’t know how to stop it! You must really love Adventure Time don’t you?”

 “Yeah. Why do you ask?”

 “Because you’ve sung the theme song in your head about a hundred times now. Please stop.”

 “Adventure time. C’mon grab your friends. We’ll go to very distant lands. Jake the dog and Finn the human. The fun will never end, it’s adventure time!”
