"A fight?!"
Bangalore's voice echoed through the corridors of the Apex training facility. Sitting in front of the Lieutenant was a frowning Lilith, one leg crossed over the other and her arms crossed over her armor clad chest. Obviously she was annoyed by Bangalore's sudden outburst.
"Tell the whole damn facility why don't you?" Lilith said as she let out a sigh, rolling her eyes while she adjusted herself on the bench, watching Bangalore pull her jet black gloves over her hands. "It's not that big of a deal. Why the sudden outburst?" Turning to Lilith with a quizzical expression, Bangalore scoffed and used large hand gestures to explain, "What do you mean 'it's not a big deal'? You and Revenant are two of the top Apex Predators in the entire world. Not to mention you both have a mysterious past together, and work incredibly well as a team. Don't tell me this isn't a big deal!" Anita stepped closer to Lilith, bending down to her height, and practically getting in her face. Lilith could feel her patience dropping by the second. Maybe Bangalore wasn't the right person to talk to about this. Wraith might have taken it a lot better considering she hardly showed an ounce of emotion. Hell, Crypto probably would have been better than that. He'd tune her out the second she started talking, giving her the chance to do all of the talking, and not get a smart ass response in return.
"What exactly is the fight about, if you don't mind me asking?" Bangalore stood up, turning away from her past nemesis, and going back to adjusting her gloves. Lilith sat in front of her for a moment, contemplating if continuing to talk about it with Anita was the smartest idea. She had gotten this far. No point in turning back now.
"The last match," she began, leaning forward a bit in her seat, "we weren't paired together like we normally are. I was awaiting the day we had to go against one another, and I thought I would be ready for it, but obviously I was wrong." The Lieutenant turned to look at the snow white haired woman she had grown to care about, her dark eyes watching as she could tell Lilith was struggling with the situation. "He thought I was purposely hunting him out when in reality, my squad and I were just looking for anyone to take out. His squad just so happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time." Sighing, she looked back up at Bangalore, meeting her brown eyes with her soft ice blue hues, "After the match, I had felt fear for the first time in hundreds of years."
"Did he handle it that bad?" The soldier asked, becoming curious of the murder bots reaction. "Bad?" Lilith began, "Bad is an understatement. It felt like I was staring into the mouth of a lion or being held underwater, watching an approaching shark about to consume me whole." She placed her hands at her sides on the bench, her head tilting to the side a bit as she spoke, her voice soft and almost shaky now that she was remembering what had happened between her long lost love and her. Her brows furrowed a bit, and she sighed. Standing up from the bench, she raised her arms above her head and stretched, Bangalore watching her movements the entire time. "You two are on separate teams again today, aren't you?" Anita asked, watching Lilith turn away from her, grabbing her horned power armor helmet and placing it over her head to cover her face. Her head turned for a moment, and even though her face was covered by the dark face plate, Bangalore could still feel the woman's eyes burning into her. With a nod, Lilith turned and walked out of the changing room, walking to the docking bay to prepare for the next match.
