Peace.

They all felt at peace. Humans and Monsters, who would think such different races that ruled the Earth could be at peace in each others presence? Not a lot of people, I'll tell you. That being said, this was how it started out. For the most part, it was going well. This is how it went...

"Chara!" Asriel laughed at her, who was currently eating a chocolate bar. She had already eaten 5 bars at this point, and she wasn't even close to being finished with the "Eat 40 chocolate bars in less than 1 hour" challenge. Not. Even. Close.

Until Toriel, Asriel's mother and Chara's motherly figure, walked in.

The tall goat woman looked at them with a worried look.

"Oh- Chara! Asriel! Why are you in- Chara. How many of those chocolate bars have you eaten?" Chara stiffened. Toriel can be kind of scary when she wants to be.

"..."

She didn't answer...

"Chara, you'll get sick if you eat too much of those sweets!"

Toriel continued to scold Chara for eating so much chocolate, until Asriel cut in.

"But mama- you always make us your butterscotch pie! Isn't that technically a sweet?" He asked, which caught Toriel off guard for a moment.

She looked at him, playfully putting on a slightly offended look.

"No I do not! I make you kids snail pie every other night as well!" Both kids looked at her.

"But snail pie isn't sweet!" Toriel only sighed.

"No, but it has nutrition." Chara looked disgusted whilst Asriel had a deadpanned look on his face, almost like he was disappointed in his own mother.

Sure, she had weird tastes, but she was still a sweet, mother figure who loved kids. That was all they really cared about. That's why they loved her. That's why Chara wanted to be adopted by Toriel instead of living with her parents.

Her parents. They were horrible.

They didn't physically abuse her, but they did emotionally hurt her. Making her depression kick in on high gear. She hated them, mainly her father. Her mom wasn't as bad, since she did somewhat care for her if she ever got a wound. However, she just can't say the same about her father...

She can't. She just hates him with a passion.

Everyone else in her family was somewhat comforting, except her dad. If she could, she would kill him.

Which leaves us here.

"Chara?" Her mother peered around the corner of the hallway, only to find puddles of blood. It lead to the kitchen.

The mother shook slightly, step by step, walking slowly to the kitchen only to see a horrific sight.
