After a silent fifteen minute walk, the pair arrived to a destination which held fond memories in their minds.
Keiji loosened his grip on Koutarou's hand, about to pull away when the man pulled him back and gestured to sit beside him. With a small blush spreading across his face, Keiji followed.
He gaze fell onto the river, memories seeming to flow through it. This was it. This was their spot, their special place.
Koutarou let out a sigh, bringing Keiji's attention back to him. His warm golden eyes met Keiji's cool blue ones, both holding heaps of fondness and care for the other. A shy smile spread across Koutarou's face, a hand rubbing at his nape
"Would you mind if I ranted a little?"
Keiji shook his head, smiling reassuringly.
With a final glance at Keiji, Koutarou shifted around and laid down on Keiji's lap. Almost instantly, Keiji's hand shot up to stroke the other's hair. Koutarou took a deep breath, a bright smile on his face as he looked up at Keiji
'Just like old times', Keiji thought.
"Y'know," Koutarou spoke up suddenly, Keiji tilting his head in curiosity "it was tough when I went deaf" the raven-haired prince let out a soft hum "I'd imagine it would be" he spoke quietly, the sentence more for himself than it was for Koutarou
"I'm not just talking about my world suddenly going quiet, or how I had to learn to read lips more accurately and how I had to learn sign language. I'm talking about all the crazy stuff that went through my head" he chuckled, sighing
"I won't try to sugarcoat it. I was super worried that you wouldn't like me anymore" Keiji's eyes widened, his heart skipping a beat. He was saddened to know that Koutarou felt like there was a possibility of Keiji ignoring him simply because he couldn't hear anymore.
On the other hand, Koutarou was looking up at Keiji expectantly, waiting for his response. Snapping out of his shocked state, Keiji put a hand up and signed a simple 'no'. A frown replaced his shocked face, and he let out a deep breath.
"I wouldn't stop liking you just because of that, Koutarou-san"
A soft smile spread across Koutarou's face, warmth flooding through his body. He chuckled softly, seeing the slight shade of red tinting Keiji's face slowly. He reached up to put a hand on Keiji's cheek, caressing the soft skin with his thumb
'God, he looks gorgeous'
Keiji leaned into the touch, eyes locked with Koutarou's. To him, there was only one thing that mattered in the moment. All he cared about was being somebody to the prince, instead of being just another person.
No, he wanted to be that somebody to him, the one that specially mattered.
"Not to be dramatic, but I would die for you" The sudden words earned a giggle from Keiji, who in turn hit Koutarou's arm softly "please don't die for me, Koutarou-san" he huffed out "I would be lonely if you did"
Koutarou sat up, scooting over to pull Keiji into a hug. Keiji sat there for a moment, before returning the gesture and wrapping his arms around the other prince's neck. Koutarou set his chin on the raven-haired boy's shoulder, his breath tickling the boy's ear.
"I wouldn't ever let you be lonely, Keiji"
