Once the high schoolers were back in school the following Monday everything seemed to be going along smoothly. They went through their classes, then lunch, and finally hosting hours. Though to them everything felt fine, Kei had the feeling something was off. Like he wasn't looking close enough. His eyes narrowed as he looked out the window in his usual spot near Hikaru and Kaoru.

"Kei-senpaiiii~" Kaoru purred softly, his undertone of playfulness falling as Kei turned and looked at him. The military man looked terrified for a short second before Kaoru was tackled to the ground.

The large glass window shattering behind him. pieces landing on his back and around them. Kaoru let a short scream out, eyes closing tight. "You ok?" Kei's voice was near frantic as he sat up, hand bolting to his sidearm that sat on his waist. Kaoru nodded as he went to stand. Getting pulled back down by Kei. "Everybody get down!" Kei yelled, standing and pulling his gun out. "Stay calm and get on the ground, away from windows!" Kyouya directed the ladies out of the room quickly before joining the hosts in the back room, Kaoru slowly shimmying across the floor to join them.

Kei's body was stiff. Stiff and unmoving as he looked out the shattered window, stepping on the glass to raise his gun and look through the small scope at the end. he tried finding a gleam of light. Nobody had heard a gunshot, though as loud as the host club can be he doubted he would be able to anyway.

Pushing his thoughts aside he cleared his head as he glared at the shattered window. Staying there a few more moments before turning and walking to the hosts. Checking over Kaoru carefully before nodding.

"It seems like whoever it was is gone... I, as your protection detail, advise you not to host for the next few days. I'll have all of you escorted home now. Hosting hours are over for today." His voice held a bit of unease to it as he guided everyone out of the music room. Heading down to the single limo that was waiting for them. Kei waited for everyone else to get in before himself, slipping in and sitting next to the still shaken Kaoru.

The ride to each of the host's houses was quiet, nerves shot high. The third years were dropped off first, at Takashi's house. Kei got out to walk them to the door and catch Morinozuka-san up on what had happened.

The nineteen-year-old got back in the limo and waited. Tamaki and Kyouya were next, staying at Kyouya's, seeing as the Ootori family did after all have a police force at their disposal. The twins asked for Haruhi to be dropped off next, so she was. Bidding Kei and the twins a farewell as she went into her apartment.

Then, lastly, the twins, who sat and held each other as the limo rolled to a stop. Kei got out first, helping Kaoru out, then Hikaru. The three walked up to the estate, Kei pushing the door open. It was oddly quiet. Quiet and stiff.

"Something's off..." Kaoru whispered, taking to walking next to Kei instead of his brother. Kei looked around with dangerous eyes. "Stay here.. I'll take a quick look around before we continue.." He whispered, getting two nods and a small whimper of fright from the younger of the two gingers. Kei shuffled through the house, a hand rested on his sidearm again, eyes narrowed and stern as he finally walked into the kitchen. Lifting a small note and reading it, the twin's parents wouldn't be home tonight. He bit back a curse before walking back over to them.

"I don't feel comfortable leaving you both here alone, your parents have left for the night and won't be back until tomorrow. And after what happened I'd like it if you both went to someone's place or allowed me to stay here with you." Kaoru and Hikaru exchanged a glance before nodding.

"A guest bedroom should be set up already... Our maids have already left for the day.." They both nodded and guided Kei through the house into a guest room.

"The only few people left today should be the chefs to make dinner then they'll be going home as well." Kei nodded and set his bag down on the bed.

"Where are your rooms?" They walked him to their bedroom's, explaining how they typically shared Hikaru's room instead, Kaoru stayed kinda quiet but talked a few times. Once they all split off Kei followed after Kaoru and took hold of his wrist carefully.

"I'm here to keep you safe... That's what I do. I'm sorry you were put in harm's way today..." Kaoru stopped and nodded, turning to look at him with fright-filled eyes.

"I.. It... It won't happen again... Right..?" Kei shook his head, hand moving to rest on Kaoru's head.

"No... I'll try my best to make sure of it..."
