"Tsk, tsk," Phoenix waved his finger at Valor slowly. "You do know you're going insane, my love?"
"Sh-shut up! How do you know about that?" Valor muttered, her face turning red with embarrassment. Phoenix disregarded the question and instead chuckled, his left hand stuffed in his pocket and his other hand forming a ball of fire sparkling in his hand. His eyes turned reddish-orange, matching the flames, which were bobbing up and down. Valor stared at him and took a step to the side. "How do you not get burned?"
"I'm immune to it," Phoenix replied, the flames getting higher. He then smiled at her, his perfectly gorgeous teeth flashing at her. "I've always liked to play with fire. I was born in it... It's in me...no it is me." He threw the ball at a nearby tree which poured down its bark and demolished its beautiful petals and branches. They snapped off and fell to the ground as the crust turned black, and fried the lush, green leaves.
"What the... I bet you were the one who put those voices in my head."
"Actually... no. You're just in a state of hyperventilation, sweetheart," he said a bit sarcastically. "Now..." He slid his warm hand into hers but Valor snapped back and backed away.
"UUUGGGHHH, Phoenix!" she yelled. "I know it was you! I was SO close to finding them but YOU had to ruin it! Why can't you just go away and never come back!"
Phoenix halted to a stop, pretending his heart was cracking into two. A sly smile spread across his face as he kept his head down. "Amica mea, utinam possem tibi vere mortuus?"
Valor paused then grinned at him as he inched closer, and she took several steps back. "Vellem ab initio. Nunc autem ego sum, nolite timere ad dicere!" Phoenix looked up in surprise.
"How...?" He squinted his eyes. "I thought you only knew Greek."
"I know both," she said, holding her smile. "Well, now I do."
Phoenix inspected his eyes at her for a bit longer then looked away, and started to sweat anxiously. "What's wrong?" Valor asked, trying not to laugh. "You needed me?"
Phoenix swallowed and said, "Your answer?"
"My answer to what?" Valor asked, puzzled.
"My proposal... of... the trade."
Shoot, Valor closed her eyes.
"I'll be waiting, amica mea," Phoenix flicked a bit of magic at her. "I'll let you go, but only to trap you once again in my soul. My love for you is a vast ocean, wider than the Nadlia Ocean itself. I wait for you for hours just to get a glimpse of your hair. Oh, Valor, how your heritage attracts my senses to you, not just my eyes and ears, but my 6th sense, my love sense. You are like magic, washing evil and ugliness away to a forgotten place in me, and swelling up my heart and mind. Farewell, my beaute, my life, oh how it warms my heart to see such a lovely woman go in my presence.." He continued to drone on with passion.
Someone went to drama school. Valor thought, scowling. Phoenix fazed out of view as she was on the boat again, the salty breeze lashing at her hair.

"Whatcha lookin' at?" Artemis asked, leaning over to see what Tobi was doing. She was holding a book in her hands. Its cover was inscribed with ancient markings.
"I-it's my sister's," she replied. "I wanted to read for so long, and might have some spells to help find her, too."
"Wait. That's a spellbook?"
"Um, yes? Why wouldn't she have a spellbook? Now stop staring at me, it's creeping me out!" Tobi pulled the book to her chest.
"Magic wavers into view, chaos thrashes about to only seize its beholder. Ravanna shall rise only to fall, but a being of absolute power shall seize them all." Vale continued in his slurring voice.
