Wishes

Chatpter 1

How could they expect him to live in an apartment this huge when he had only lived in a trailer all his life, was the single thought going through Pete's head at the moment....

He stared up at the house and sighed again
"And it had to be this silent"? I mutter
"Well at least I got a dog out of it all" my love for dogs rearing when I saw a dog staring at me from a dog shed at the corner.
"Come on boy" I called to the dog not even knowing if it was a male or female but desperately hoping it is a male.
The dog continued to stare at me without making a move
"Oh so am to come to meet you?, alright then"
I went to the dog and started patting it when the dog began to whimper inaudibly
"It's alright" I tutted

I looked down to my pocket when I noticed that my phone is vibrating
"Hey mom" I whisper
"Hey baby, how is the place?" she asked, and I immediately signed remembering that I told my  mom just this morning not to call me baby anymore at the age of 17.
"It feels somehow weird mom" I whined out
"It's alright baby,t he other person will soon be there so you won't feel lonely for long"
"Alright then, I'll be expecting him"
"And who told you it's an him? She said
"Did anyone need to tell me that I'll have a guy living with me?, i mean am a guy after all"
"Ohh deceive yourself on Pete" she mutters
"Say what?
"You're living with a girl" she squeals out like a kid who saw Santa.

"Mom?"
"Yeah baby?"
I'm gonna live with a girl for four years?"
"Yeeahh" she drawls out
"Mom, you know I couldn't possibly live with a female, I even have a hard time living with a male and you want me to live with a female?
"Just go with it Pete, I know you prefer it to living in the trailer"
Well when she puts it like that....

"Okay Mom" I agreed
"Alright baby, call me when you've settled in bye"
"Bye mom"
"Well it seems it's only I and the dog for now" I whispered because everywhere is so silent
I walked up to the door and opened it after being informed that it's not locked. Moving into a new place has never been easy for me and it's supposed to be considering the amount of times I've moved from places to places.
Signing again, I went it, dragging my travelling bag behind me.

The house is really gorgeous, I'll give it that.The space alone was intimidating, there was a huge fireplace and also a collection of comfortable sofas. Moving on, I  was met with a huge hallway. I carried on and met myself in a huge room which leads to the kitchen, then the dining room. I went on upstairs to drop my bag. There are exactly twelve rooms on that floor, I opened the first room to my right and walked in resting my bag against the wall.
Just seeing the huge bed in the middle of the room is making me feel exhausted, I dropped into the bed deciding to rest for awhile.

An incessant banging on the door woke me up with a start
"Who the hell could be banging on a door like a river horse's stamping at this time of the night?" I mutter to myself.
"It had better be important" I said while getting off the bed
"I'm coming" I shouted out to whoever's banging on the door.

"And is this the so called house mate"? the girl standing at the door said after eyeing me up and down...... Deciding to do do so too, i noticed that she has a very pink hair with rings all over her face and ear, putting on a black halter top with very short shorts and boots.... If I had seen her outside for the first time, I would have thought she was going to a club because of the way she's dressed.......

"And what if it is?" I shot back
"Then I left my luck back at New York" she said with a sneer.
Before I could reply, I felt the buzzing of my phone in my pocket
"Hey mom" I said
"Don't you dare hey me Pete, I told you to call me back the instant you get settled in not ignore my phone calls doing God knows what? She screamed out of the cell.
"Oh great, it's a momma's boy" she mutters before I had a chance to reply.

"Ew mom, take it down a notch" I answered eyeing the girl in front of me.
"I'm sorry mom, I slept off right after getting inside"
"You had better be sorry, i was worried about you Pete" she whines
"I'm okay mom"
"So is she there yet"
"Yeah mom"
"Let me speak to her" she squeals out" at times like this, I wonder if my mom is really the age she claims to be.
"No way mom, I'll call you later" I hung up, looking around for the girl who's supposed to enter.

"Stop looking around like a dummy, am right behind you" she said while walking away
"An who said you could come in?" I taunted
"No one said not to" she answered with a shrug.
"I do"
"Nah, you don't dare"
I kept shut and gave up since she's inside already.
She went on upstairs like I did and I trotted after her touching the walls while moving along.. "Do I get to do the decorations?" She asked polite for the very first time since we've met.
"It's all yours" I answered, it's not as if I know how to decorate anything before.... All I do is read and study.... I've being called a nerd way more times than I could remember and it's part of me now since even I know am a nerd.........

I didn't catch what she said at the beginning but the next thing I did heard is.....
"I'm staying here" she said while staring at my room, "I love the view"she continued.......
"Oh no, you don't" I said as calm as I could knowing this room would cause our very first fight........

Okay so this is the first story I've ever written and even I don't know how it will end yet, so you guys should keep an open mind about the characters and the novel cos nothing is perfect
And you people should be encouraging through your votes and comments
P.S you are free to correct my mistakes in the comment box......
