Sunday morning, you woke up with the same big headache that had been following you for exactly a month and thirteen days. Since your 2 year-boyfriend, Chan, had broken up with you.
You knew it though, he barely spent time with you anymore, or talked to you, called you. It was very painful realizing that work will always come first than you. But could you blame him though? He warned you at the very start of the relationship.
"Y/n, i love you, i promise i do, but this is my dream, one i've worked so hard to achieve them, and even if i love you, this...will probably come first. I truly hope you understand and accept that. Even if i will always be very busy, i promise i will find time for you and make things work."
He said that, an hour before you said yes. And it sounded very honest, like he was truly going to try his best to make the relationship work. The thing is, he did for the first year, then as you got used to him working more and more, as you told him it was okay, that you understood him and wanted him to keep working hard for Stay, he thought it was okay. And as the weeks passed, you stopped calling him at lunch and dinner time to know how everything was going. He stopped responding to the "good morning" and the "good night" texts. You barely even were a couple anymore. You didn't know anything about each other anymore. To the point he forgot your birthday, and spent half of the next day with you as an apology for it.
1 year and a half into the relationship, when you barely even texted anymore, he found himself not missing you so much anymore, not wanting to hear your voice as badly as before, but he thought it was because it had been three months since you spent a whole day together, just the two of you. For him, your relationship was okay as it was, because you always had told him that.
You blamed yourself at first, a week after he told you to meet up with him because he needed to talk to you. You knew what that meant, and it hurt. More than you expected. And you thought it was your fault, for letting him be. For saying "it's okay" when you wanted to say "come back, i miss you" for telling him "keep working, we'll talk later" when you needed to say "we really need to talk, this is not okay."
It was exactly 5:47 pm when you knocked his studio door. He simply looked at you with a little bit of guilt in his eyes, and told you to sit down. You did, and none of you started talking until his alarm went off, it was time to get back to work. When he was working, he always set up some alarms to know when he could take a 10 minute break before starting again and you were late enough for him to have to start working now.
"I get it, it's over." You said, trying to sound unbothered by it, but your teary eyes and shaky voice betrayed you, breaking chan's heart. No matter how much or little he loved you, a week before that your 2 years anniversary was spent alone and it did hurt him a bit, and it destroyed you. He wanted this to be over with, not the relationship, but your suffering. He never talked to you about it because he never really knew how, but he knew how much his actions hurt you. He looked at you, pure pain and a little of regret painting his eyes, and whispered a "sorry" that you surprisingly heard. You got up, smiled faintly and waved, before leaving the building. It was very sunny outside, which you hated at that moment because you were crying and everyone turned around to look at you. You went home and cried yourself to sleep. And so had been your life for the past month and thirteen days. But you worked there, at the JYP building. Yes as a stylist. Yes, for the boys as well. But yes, you went to work every day despite how badly your heart ached when you saw him. You almost never did his hair or makeup, though. Your co-worker did it. You asked her to do it, without explaining much and she got the message, and did that for you.
The members also didn't like the situation. You were chan's ex girlfriend, sure, but you were their friend. And they were very worried about you as well. The makeup couldn't hide the despair behind your smile, nor the sadness in your eyes. And despite how hard you tried to never look at him, at least once a day you found yourself admiring his beauty once again.
Chan was doing okay, or that's what he told himself every day. He kinda missed you sometimes. No, he actually missed you very much and regretted leaving you every day, and he knew it was his fault as well for seeing the problem but never trying to solve it, to talk to you and do better. Seeing you styling his members but not him, being so nice and gentle with them but not talking to him anymore made him feel empty. And kinda jealous. He wanted to talk to you and get back together, pretend none of this happened at all. But would you agree? Would you accept his apologies even after how badly he hurt you?
Yes, you would. Of course you would. No matter how much it hurt at first, you knew that even if he came back only two years after it, you'd still take him back because your love for him was stronger than that. And so, one day, when it became just too painful to look at you knowing you weren't his, he decided to talk to you, praying for you both to get back together and never repeat the same mistakes again. He was ready to change, and he only wanted to know if y'all would do it, together. Be better.
He stepped out of the stage, finishing his performance for the day. He didn't have much scheduled anymore and you were alone in the dressing room, so it was the perfect time for him to ask you to come to his studio at night, to have dinner together and talk about...everything. You agreed, your heart racing faster than ever. You wanted to cry out of happiness when you finally arrived to his studio, but held all of your emotions back. Maybe he didn't want to get back together, maybe he wanted to discuss something else.
He had ordered your favorite food, and his laptop was nowhere to be seen, which means he probably stepped in there only to wait for you, not to work. It made you smile, and he noticed it. His and your heart were racing, just like the first time you both met alone in his studio. that was a very special day. You missed it, you missed him. And so did he. He missed you so damn much and he hated the fact that he had to lose you in order to realize how much he actually loved you.
"I'm so sorry, Y/n, I never wanted this to end. And i won't even give you an excuse, i just did something stupid and i regret it so much." He said, looking right into your eyes. You sat down in front of him and held his hands, he was almost shaking. You were so surprised to see him like that, he was never nervous and usually so confident. "Me too, Chan, i'm sorry for never speaking to you, for never actually trying to make things better. But i believe we're here to solve that problem now, aren't we? " You smiled reassuringly to him, and he hugged you so tight, it felt warm, and so good to finally be in his arms again. "I missed you so much, Y/n, so so much."
As you left yourself melt in his warmth, seven little heads popped out of the door, all smiling and Felix said, in english "It was about time you two got back together!" "Yeah, you're our favorite ship, and now Hyunjin owes me 30000 bucks hehe" Said Jisung, all of them getting inside the studio and sitting with you. "I guess we should celebrate this by having dinner all together" Said Chan, smiling widely, you nodded and they all cheered.
As he always says: "Good food, good people, good life"
