Find Our Way Back - T.H

After a super long and eventful day on set, we get back to the hotel.
Seeing what Toms days are like is really eye opening. He works so much harder than what he gets credit for. Having to read scripts in between shooting, wearing uncomfortable costumes and film the same scenes over and over until his body hurts and his voice is gone. It strains him quite a bit to keep up that American accent for so long, I don't know how he does all of that.
Audrey loves his American accent because she feels like he sounds more like her. She's always felt left out that the family all has an English accent while hers leans a lot more to the American side. So she felt really happy to hear him talk like that.
She's wiped out, dead asleep in her room. Tom and I sit in the living room area, drinking wine and staring out the window at the view. We're sitting on a couch, legs touching at the closeness, no space between our bodies.
"Today was perfect. Thank you." I say.
"Of course. You guys deserve it." He smiles. "And now Audrey has a photo with iron man to brag about."
I laugh, knowing that's exactly what she'll do. She's a lot like Tom in that way, always wanting everyone to know all the cool crazy stuff she does.
"Can I ask you something?" I ask.
"Anything." He nods.
Here we go..
"When you said earlier, that I'll eventually not be into Nick, what does that mean?" I ask.
He lets out a long sigh, obviously not really prepared for this conversation.
"Everyone has a soulmate, Allison." He starts. "And Nick? He's not your soulmate."
"And how do you know that?" I question.
He turns to me, eyes locking with mine. His hand reaches over my knee, palm resting on my leg. His touch makes me blush slightly, and he definitely takes notice.
"Because, you're my soulmate, and I'm yours." He says.
I feel goosebumps rise on my body, nerves tingling from the words I just heard. I'm his soulmate...
"I love you, Allie. I always have, and I always will."
He loves me..
"I don't want to waste anymore time. You are the girl I want to be with, I want to raise our daughter together, in one house. I want to start where we left off."
My heart stops, not even understanding the extent of his words. Tom has been the guy I've always wanted. From day one I fell in love with him, and I've been miserable without him. Now we can start again, and we can make it work this time..
"I want that too, Tom. I just want us to be a family.." I say.
"Then let's do it." He nods. "Let's be a family."
I smile, pulling him into a hug. Finally, I have the greatest person that has ever entered into my life back.
He pulls out of the hug, his hand cupping my face. The way his eyes flicker between mine and my lips tells me exactly what's going to happen next. He leans in, pressing his soft, warm lips to mine for the first time in six years. My eyes flutter shut as I move my mouth against his, legs scrambling slightly to straddle his lap on the couch. His hands grasp my hips, feeling so familiar in their place. This just feels so right.
The lights of New York shine through the window on us as we kiss, making the moment even more magical than it already is. We separate slowly, and Toms hand brushes my hair back.
"You are my future." He mumbles, lifting my hand up in his, pressing a comforting kiss to it.
We lay back onto the couch, his arms wrapped around me as we look out at the view. I run my fingers through his hair, feeling complete contentment.
"I didn't see this coming." I mumble.
"If I was told I would be seeing you again.. I would have never believed it." He says. "Then I went to the pub and you were there. I was so shocked to see you.."
"I'm sorry I left." I say almost in a whisper.
"We're past it now. Neither of us will live in the past, okay?" He says. "You've beaten yourself up over it.. I've beaten you up over it.. but it doesn't matter anymore."
I just can't get that one thought out of my head.. I have to know. I have to ask.
"Do you trust me?" I ask.
He stays silent for a moment, making me nervous. I wait impatiently for an answer, secretly begging him to just say something already.
"I'm trying." He says.
"Tom.." I start, sitting up in my seat. "I know I have no right to say this but, this won't work if you can't trust me.."
"I'll get there. You just need to give me time." He states.
"Okay.." I nod. "I can do that."
"Believe me Allie, I want this to work." He says. "We will make this work."
"I know we will." I smile.

I wake up, feeling the familiar pair of strong arms wrapped around me. Toms hot breath blows on my face with every exhale, his curly hair falling over his forehead. He's perfect.
I hear a low voice in the other room, and I make it out to be Audrey's. I listen intently, realizing she's on a phone call.
"It worked uncle Haz. Momma and Daddy are sleeping in the same bed!" She whisper yells.
Hold on a second.. Audrey and Haz had a plan?.. Haz seriously talked about my love life with my daughter? He's so weird.
"You were right! Telling daddy that momma still loves him worked." She says.
So Audrey went to Tom and kind of lied just to get us back together? Wow she really is my daughter. Sneaky and independent. I'm going to have a lot to worry about when she's a teenager if she's already pulling stunts like this.
Toms arms squeeze around me slightly, indicating that he's waking up. His eyes scrunch closed before opening.
"Morning pretty girl." He says, kissing my forehead.
"I have to get off the phone before they wake up." Audrey says into the phone, making Toms brows knit together.
"Who is she talking to?" He asks.
"Harrison." I say. "Apparently they had a plan to get us back together."
"Haz used our daughter to get us back together?" He laughs lightly.
"they make quite the team." I state.
"They sure do."

A/N: FINALLY! I don't think I've ever waited this long to make two characters date and it was the hardest thing I've ever done😂
