Chapter One
The Guy Who Picked Her Up
Bella lifted her thumb up as she saw a silver Volvo come around the corner. To her luck, the car stopped.
The driver rolled down the window and said, "Do you need a ride?" The driver had gorgeous bronze hair with beautiful green eyes. But this didn't phase Bella. She'd seen plenty of hot guys, they'd all have taken advantage of her. She had actually learned to not trust hot guys, and to try to stay away from them as much as possible, but she couldn't turn down a ride.
"Yeah, but you don't have to if you don't want to," Bella said, trying to send the message for him to drive off, she'll find another ride.
"Get in," The guy said. Bella sighed, pulled the door open, slung her book bag off her shoulder, and sat down. "I'm Edward," The guy said, holding his hand out. "And you are?"
Bella tried to think of a fake name, but could think of none. She decided to go with Isabelle, since it was close to her real name, but it wasn't her name. "I'm Isabelle. Thanks for the ride."
"Where are you headed?" Edward asked.
"I don't know. I don't have a particular direction. Just go where your going and drop me off. I'll find a ride from there."
Edward pulled off the curb and started driving. "What about your parents?"
"Have none. Oh, and no home either, so don't even ask." Bella grew a lump in her throat, but tears didn't come to her eyes. She cried way to many times to count.
"So you basically have no where to go?" Edward asked incredulously. It was like he thought a hitch-hiker had a place to go, Bella thought.
"Yep," She replied popping the P. The only things she had were a tooth brush, tooth paste, two pairs of ripped jeans (one of which she was wearing), 3 t-shirts, and an MP3 player with a charger. She would charge her MP3 player any chance she got. If someone offered her to stay the night at their house, she would charge it, which wasn't a lot, so she used her battery sparingly.
"Wow, where do you sleep?" He asked incredulously.
"Anywhere and everywhere." Bella didn't want to say to much. Though if she did, what could he do with the information?
Edwards head slumped against the headrest. "I don't need your pity," Bella snapped. "I don't need anyone."
"I wasn't pitying you. But I don't believe that you don't need anyone. You need people," Edward tried to reason. "I can let you stay at my place. You'll be safe."
"I already told you! I don't need people," Bella practically yelled. "Why can't you let it go? Just drop me off. I'll find another ride," Bella said, putting her hand on the door handle.
"Isabelle, please. Just stay for one night. Get some rest, get something to eat. Then leave. That's all I ask."
"Is there anyone one else gonna be there?" Bella asked hopefully. She didn't want it to be just him and her. That could be bad.
"My Mom, Dad, Brothers Emmett, Jasper, and sisters, Alice, and Rosalie. We're all adopted. Emmett and Rosalie are together, and Alice and Jasper are together. I just-"
Bella cut him off. "Dude, I asked you if there was anyone else. Not an entire biography."
Edward smiled. "So are you gonna stay?"
"Sure," Bella said. "Why not?"
