song: habits, tove lo
"No you don't"
"Yes I want to jump first"
This boy is going in my nerves and I try my best not to lose my temper because then he's going to be kicked aside so I can finally jump.
"Fine. Nobody jumps then", he says.
"Are you crazy? I want to jump right now. I have to end this today, please. I can't go on. This is a circle I can't escape. I need this badly. please", I try to convince him but he doesn't step aside.
"Fine", I grumble, run towards him and push him aside. He could have blocked me if he had known what was happening but I think he was surprised. He was pushed aside quickly and I climbed up so my legs were hanging down from the window.
"High all the time to keep you off my mind", I sang and pushed myself off. I waited for the white light everybody with near-death experience was talking about but it never came.
"You're stealing my jump. I'm not gonna let go", he said and I growled. He didn't let go off me until I stood in the room again.
"I hate you", I say and start crying.
"I'm sorry", he says. The only people who understand what your going through are the ones who have been going through it themselves. You have to experience something to fully understand it. I sit down and cry. He doesn't say anything, he just sits beside me and hugs me.
"What do you think you're doing"
"I'm hugging a girl", he says clearly holding back a smirk.
"Funny one, what's your name?", I ask while trying to stop crying.
"My name is Dr. Fluke and yours?"
"I don't know what kind of joke this is but my name is Elle like the magazine", I say remembering that in a few days your 'Elle' would arrive at my flat.
"My name is Luke"
"I used to have a friend named Luke"
"What happened to him?"
"He died"
"Oh"
"He used to be my best friend but he died in a car crash. Some drunk asshole knocked him down and he immediately died."
"Better this way"
"What did you say?", he wasn't going to insult my best friend.
"Just imagine him being hurt the whole time because he would have survived this accident. I think, it's better to die immediately instead of struggling with it", he looks me directly in the eyes.
"I guess your right. Can I jump now?"
"No you're not going to jump", he says leaving me extremely confused because he had wanted to jump too.
"I don't know why bit this gives me hope in some ways. Maybe we're not supposed to jump and die. Maybe we're supposed to meet each other."
"I'm not taking your 'and they lived happily ever after' shit", I shout and start to cry again.
"You can jump every day, same with me"
I stand up, wipe my tears away and walk out of the room. I hear footsteps coming closer.
"Can't you leave me the fuck alone. I'm a loner, I don't need you! You can jump now after you destroyed my chance of jumping", I scream at him.
"Elle, please listen to me. I don't know what happened to you but I'm not gonna let you jump. At least not today", he screams back and here we are screaming at each other.
"I'm done with you shit. Bye", I scream and walk away.
Billie looks confused when I leave and I shrug my shoulders.
My plan was to die and now this boy has ruined everything. Suddenly a boy runs towards me. Not the blonde one but a red haired dude.
"Have you seen a boy with legs longer than a skyscraper, blonde hair and a lip ring?", he asks me.
"Is his name Luke?", his face lights up at the mention of Luke's name.
"That's him. Do you know where he is?"
"He's in that building", I say and point behind me to the house.
"Thank you very much", he runs away into the house.
"Luke!", someone screams and I look behind me. The two boys are in front of the house hugging each other.
The red haired boy is crying. They must be a couple or maybe brothers or best friends, I don't know.
"Thank you again for telling me where he was. I would have been lost", he says and I smile politely.
Luke looks up and sees me.
"Elle, promise me not to jump"
"I'm not one for promises"
