Calum Roberts

Okay Calum. Deep breath. He's her boyfriend, learn to get used to it. You've been best friends all your life and nothing more.

Me and Lucy been best friends since I can remember. Her boyfriend, Logan is on the football team along with me and our other friends, Nate, Matt and Ethan. I guess you could call us the ' popular ' kids.

Me and Nate are closest, I've never been very close to Logan. I've never really liked him if I'm going to be honest. He's a bit of a dick, who am I kidding, try a massive dick. It's one of those things where you just get a bad vibe off someone, you know.

It was lunch and we were sitting at our table and me and Lucy were talking.

"So are you coming to Logan's party on Saturday?" Lucy asked.

" I don't really know. I've got football practise all afternoon so I don't know if I'll be up to a party "

" Come on Calum. What's a party without your best friend "

" well you have Logan now don't you "

" Calum, what's tha- "

Logan came up from behind and covered Lucy's eyes. This is the first time I'm thankful for Logan coming up. I was beginning to dig myself a pretty deep hole. But that's beside the point. Anyway, covering her eyes from behind. Really bro, that move of all things.

" Hey babe! "

She turned around. She had a massive grin on her face when she saw him. Too big if you ask me. I used to be the only one who could make her smile like that and that was the way I liked it.

He leaned towards her face and kissed her. Ever heard the expression get a room. I find myself mentally saying that a lot recently.

Lucy and Logan are having a party this weekend, everyone will go just so they can say they have been to a Logan Smith party and I guess I need to go. I do have football practice but
when there's drinks and hot girls involved, is there any reason not to?

Me and Lucy live next door to each other and every night I always went over and climbed through her window and we'd just sit and talk. I'm going to go and see her tonight. Since she's been with Logan - 6 months by the way - I've not been able to spend much time with her.

We were so close and I don't think she realises how much we have drifted apart. I think I might mention it tonight. I'm not going to sit here in silence whilst my best friend is getting taken away from me by Logan of all people.

I chapped her window. She usually comes over straight away. Her curtains were closed so I couldn't see in, but I chapped again. Suddenly the curtains were flung open and I was faced by Lucy in her pyjamas and on the phone to someone. She always looks so damn cute. She signalled that she would only be two more seconds and opened the window.

" okay I need to go babe "

Who else would it have been. She smiled and paused.

" I love you too "

Love. They love each other. Are you kidding me. As soon as I heard her say that, I couldn't bare to see her. It was like everything stopped except my thoughts and my brain trying to process what my ears just heard. I was in shock. Lucy, my best friend, since we were 5, was in love. The hardest thing is, I'm her best friend and she didn't and couldn't even come to me about him. That's what best friends are for and I couldn't be there for her. I swear if he breaks her heart, I will kick him so hard his balls will be in his throat.

I still couldn't bare to see her right now so I climbed back down as fast as I could and went back home. When I got back I turned around to see Lucy standing confused.
