Piedmont

Part one: The SandWing

Piedmont woke up that morning in a good mood. This was rare, she never  woke up in a good mood (she hated mornings) . Maybe something good will happen today! Oh I hope it does. She thought. She got out of bed and walked outside. She looked up at the old sandwing and icewing  base, it was now empty but she remembered when it was full of dragons. That was during the war, she reminded herself. Now it's over, and Mother is home with us. She heard her little sister groan. "MOMMY! I DON'T WANNA GET UP!" She heard Beluga say. "Honey, we're taking you to your new school today! We were trying to get you in to jade Mountain Academy all of last year, and a spot finally opened!" Her mother replied. "But Mommy, I'm still tired!" Beluga cried. "Come on, do you have all your stuff ready?" her mother asked. "Yea!" Said beluga. "Goodbye Beluga! I am going to miss you so much! But I know your going to have such a good experience! It's an amazing school!" Their tails intwined. "Good bye pumpkin! I'm going to miss you so much! It won't be the same here without you!" Her father said. They then flew off. Piedmont was going to miss little beluga. They were very close, ever since Beluga was born. But she knew beluga would have a good experience. Suddenly something strange happened. She saw a sandwing land in the light, powered snow. She looked young, around Piedmont's age, maybe 9 or 10. She looked scared, Piedmont decided to talk to her. She walked up to her and said, "Hi, I'm Piedmont, what's your name? Why are you here? Are you ok?" She looked up at her, startled. "I-I'm Silica." She stuttered  "I r-ran away. I am b-being hunted down. Can you help me?" She asked, "Of course!" They went inside and asked if she could stay with them. "Yes, of course!" Said her father. "You can stay in the hidden room, here wear this necklace, the dragon wearing it can hide the room whenever they want to, so nobody knows that it's there, they can't see it, they cant hear what's inside of it, and most importantly they cant get in. Piedmont slipped a beautiful moonstone necklace off of her neck."This is the necklace. Remember to always hide the room, even when your not in it, always wear the necklace, never take it off. To hide or show the room just tap the necklace three times." Said Piedmont. "Thank you! I am so grateful!" Silica replied. She tapped the necklace three times and a door way append. It led to a dark room with a bed and a small table with 4 chairs around it and a small, unlit lamp on it. Silica lit the lamp and the whole room lit up. "Wow, this place is amazing." Said Silica. All of a sudden Piedmont's best friend, fern stepped through the front door. Piedmont and her father rushed out the door and Silica quickly hid it. "Hi!" Fern said in her sweet, soft voice. "Hello, Fern!" Piedmont replied. "So I see Beluga left for jade mountain." Fern said. "Yea." Piedmont replied. They heard a knock on the door. Her father answered it. It was a sandwing, he walked through the door and said, "I'm looking for a young sandwing by the name of Silica."
