What happened?!

"Tris? Oh my god! What happened?"

Tris was stood there with dried blood and tears covering his face.

"I..I..need...I need you." He cried collapsing into me.

I turned my head to my right Connor was stood looking sorry for tris.

I gave him a look which asked him if it was OK that tris came in. He nodded and walked back in to the living room. I helped tris stand up and walked him to the bathroom. I sat him on the edge of the bath and wet a flannel under the cold tap.

"Are you going to tell me what happened?" I said dabbing the flannel on his busted cheek. His breath hitched and he jerked his head away. I grabbed his head in my hand and pulled it back to face me, repeating my actions of soothing the deep cut.

"Shes ruined me Ruby."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, she's taken everything."

"Who? Esmay?"

He nodded and flinched when I applied the water again.

"She burnt everything, she took my keys so I can't get in the house."

"How are you in this state then?"

He took a deep breath and exhaled through his mouth. Only then did I smell the alcohol and cigarettes. "I went out with some old mates, got pissed and got into a fight for the hell of it."

"Why?"

"Because I have nothing better to do. No one cares."

"What am I then? A fucking brick?"

"Connor wouldn't appreciate this would he?"

"He trusts us tristan." I sighed standing up.

"No, he might trust you. But not me!" He started.

"He does!" I sighed deeply. "Tris, cut him some slack, you announced 'you are in love with me' to his face." I sighed again.

"She cheated on me."

"What?"

"She has a boyfriend."

"Don't be stupi-"

"I caught them going at it." He cut me off. "I always thought she was too good for me. I'm not anything to anyone." He said slowly and quietly looking down at the floor.

"What made you think that?"

"Well look at me, I'm a failure. I was always the one in the band with the least people knowing who I was, I was always at the back. Esmay didn't really pay attention to me, she was always out with Adam."

He spat his name out like it was venom so I assumed that was Esmays boyfriend. His jaw clenched and his hands clutched the sides of the bath tightly, as if he wanted to break it.

"Urgh I hate her!" He shouted. He fell of the side of the bath onto the cold tiles. He crawled into a ball and started to sob uncontrollably.

I sat there rubbing his back for well over an hour. When he had calmed down he stood up and washed his face in the basin. I walked out into the kitchen to see a note on the counter.

Ruby,
Mikey, jess and I have taken keris out for a bit. Hope all is OK.

I smiled and put it in the bin. I decided to phone Esmay and ask her what happened.

I got my phone out and clicked on her name. Esmeralda

After a few rings she picked up.

E: hello?
R: what the actual fuck Esmay?
E: um let me guess tris is with you.
R: well done! You guessed correctly. How dare you?
E: he loves you.
R: I DONT GIVE A FLYING FUCK TO BE HONEST! YOU HAVE BEEN CHEATING ON HIM WITH SOME RANDOM GUY!
E: Because he loves you.
R: I swear to all of the gods that have ever and will ever exist I will find you and slaughter you! You've made him a mess.
E: I'm sorry about that by the way, but its not my problem anymore.
R: you need to get your sorry arse here right now and sort this out.
E: why should i ?
R: because h-
E: I swear to god. If you say its my fault-
R: no because its not. Its his fault and I truly and deeply understand that. But you can't burn all of his stuff and then chuck him out! Its totally unreasonable!
E:I don't see why I should?
R: because you need to get your head out of your fucking arse, if its not too far up there, and appoligise.
E: but why?
R: because he's not going to. Come on es we both know that.
E: but I'm with A-
R: Adam, yes I know tris told me. But I don't care about him. To be completely and utterly honest. I hate him! And I haven't even met the guy. But Es, trust me on this one.
E: no

And with that she hung up.
