George

Today was a good day. I woke up feeling great and energized, which is very unusual for someone to goes to bed as late as 4 AM. But I shrugged it off, feeling like it wasn't such a big deal. Maybe I was just overly motivated today because I did have that fearful excitement jitter every now and then. Except something was wrong- I didn't look right. I didn't have an alarm clock. My wardrobe was completely different and I didn't have a bathroom? My bedding was mostly the same besides the shortage of fluffy pillows. I looked like a deer in headlights as I stared myself down in the foggy mirror that leaned against a prickly log wall. I wasn't in pajamas- instead I had ocean blue feathers dangling down from a leather chest piece that tucked into goatskin joggers and black fur boots that were tied up with thin rope. I was itchy all over and extremely sweaty. The long sleeve under the leather didn't help- along with the fact that I was wear literal goatskin and fur boots. What the hell? Where am I?

There was a door behind me and a couple windows around. But it was completely white out the windows, like I was in a bright void. But when I went to open the door I stepped out and started falling.
"HOLY SH— MOTHERFU—"
I didn't even notice what I said, but I was cut short after feeling pressure push down on my chest and never ending wind blow up while I only fell faster. I couldn't turn around, I couldn't move my neck, I was limp all over until I felt like I was being thrown into the shallow side of an algae pool.

"Must've had a rough night, I reckon."
A voice sounded from around me.
"Disgusting."
And another.
"He doesn't look like a local."
The comments went on and on, but I couldn't hear them. I was too focused on what the hell just happened and why I was in a fountain with green water flowing down from stained limestone. I tried my best to stand up, grabbing onto the outer lip of the fountain but slipped at least twice back into the dirty water. It was like I couldn't feel my legs until the third time I tried to get up, and was able to successfully.  Great. Now I was soaking with mossy water and brain eating amoeba, yet that was the least of my worries in the moment. I didn't know where I was besides I was surrounded by booths run by townspeople selling merchandise to patrons of all privileges.
I thought I was dreaming- but this all felt so real. I could move each and every one of my toes and fingers, control my breathing, and speak. This had to be a dream- where else would I be? I fell from a literal endless void and somehow ended up being thrown into a horrible fountain. But I couldn't smell anything- and my eyes fixated and were drawn to red. Not yellow or white. I could see green and red- and every other color of the rainbow. I knew because in "real life" I had those custom colorblind glasses. It was a real blessing, but I got tired of wearing glasses all the time. And in here, I didn't need to wear glasses- I could see.

But that's not the point.
"Excuse me ma'am," I tapped a long haired woman's shoulder and she swiftly turned around with a ferocious beard. "Sir— where might I be?" I asked as politely as possible. "Eh? You's were in zat fountain, yeah? You're in WestNotch, Jeb's village."
The man spoke in a recognizable Swedish accent with determined hazel eyes.
"WestNotch, Jeb's village?" I repeated in confusion.
"Ye, but you bettas watch out for the one who goes by 'Dream,' they say e's been stealin' goods and charming lassies whenever he gets the chance." The man continued to inform me  but before I could respond, a booming voice screamed from afar.

"GEORGE! HEY GEORGE!"
A dark haired fellow with a dirtied white bandana, shiny steal chest plate, torn leather pants, and loud shoes that sounded like a horse trotting nearby. I could recognize this voice and face from a couple centuries away and would never forget that signature laugh that this man exerted every time he caught up or found something worth sharing. "You will not believe what just happened,"
"Nick?" I asked with a hushed voice.
"Yeah! I didn't know you'd be here but I saw you and decided to drop by!"
People were beginning to stare and George felt a tickle travel up the back of his neck and a sweat start to break on his brows.
"What is this place? Why is everyone acting so weird?" I asked quietly again, hoping no locals heard, but a few heads turned only to look back and glare aggressively.
"I think I'm dreaming- I've been here for so long, I—"
"Then does that mean I'm dreaming? Why can I move my whole body?"
"Are we lucid dreaming, George?"
