Chapter 2: The Half-Breed

4 months later

Myra and I were fighting, because she got into my wing without permission from me or my servants.

"How dare you enter my wing without permission!!!!" I yelled.

"What I was bored plus I wanted to borrow something from you." She said in her whiny voice.

"Is that why I caught you taking my stuff?. Get out of my wing. I forbid you from ever coming anywhere near my wing. You got that!!!!?"

I was officially pissed and the next thing I know, I feel shifting in my mouth. I opened my mouth and my sister ran off looking scared. I went to the bathroom mirror and looked my reflection. And at both corners of my mouth, there was fangs. What the Hell. Without thinking I let the most blood curling scream ever. I heard glasses, windows, and mirrors breaking throughout the whole kingdom over my screams.

Kevin's POV

I was listening to my ipod when I heard the most blood curling scream. The glasses, windows, and mirrors were breaking throughout the whole kingdom. I pulled out my ear buds and instantly I knew who was screaming. Micah. I ran with inhuman speed to the entrance of the Northern wing. I knew something was wrong, but I ignore it. I dropped kick the door and ran past all the servants that were on the ground, hands over their ears, to Micah's room. She wasnt there. No shes in the bathroom.

In the bathroom, I saw Micah on the floor, hair covering her face. As soon as I touched her she stopped screaming. "I'm a Half-Breed." She said.

 I tilted her face so she can look at me. Wait, whats that in the corners of her mouth. "I-I am a vampire." That explains it, she had fangs, but wheres mines. Then I had this sudden urge to kiss her. And I did. Her fangs retreated and she kissed me back. The kiss was pretty sweet, and good turn on. In a flash I had Micah pinned to the king size bed with me on top. It was getting pretty heated. In one swift movement I took off my shirt and ripped Micah's shirt off. "Appala, Appoca STOP!!!!!!" We froze and looked at our dad, King James.Why did we respond to those names, like we been born with them.

"Its about time you guys start changing. Meet me in my office, And get dressed. Dont you dare come down there the way you are now." He said then left.

At that me and Micah's fangs popped out. "You should probably get back to your wing, Kevin." Micah said sheepishly.

I kissed her on the cheek before heading to my wing. That parchment is right. We are Half-Breeds.

Micah's POV

Shit, Im a Half-Breed, But im not only that. What am I? I thought as I got dressed to go meet my dad in his office. Its exactly what the parchment says. 1 month before our 14th birthday and we will start changing. First its, fangs. Check. Next, increased speed, Kevin showed that and I should have that too. Check. Then, hormonal changes. Check, check, check. I wonder whats next.

In King James' office

"Micah and Kevin Medzindtie. The twins of the Midnight kingdom. Crown prince and princess. I know you guys are wondering why I called you 'Appala and Appoca', am I right?" James said addressing to me and Kevin. "Micah, your real name is Appala, which means that you are the princess of the Dark, and powers Beyond. And you, Kevin, Appaca is your real name, which means that you are the prince of the Moon and Above. Together you two are the Rulers of Midnight, the most powerful species of the entire world. You two are yin to the yang. You both have an equal amount of power, so you two are evenly matched. You two are part of the four Half-Breeds in the world, but you two are the most powerful. Your mates are the other two Half-Breeds."

He looked stressed as he explained this to us. Mom is trying to confort him and he is responding. I bet they are mates. "I'm afraid that there is going to be a terrible war, between all species except for the feeble humans. This war can be the end of the world. If the other species win, the world will never be the same. By the time your 14th birthday come, the changes will be done and the war will start in 3 years from there. As of now you don't have to go to school" He concluded but I know that this meeting isn't over yet.

Now my mom, was shifting and getting ready to speak. " Training isn't gonna be easy. that's all I can say about that. But what you must know is your orgins and ours. James over here, is a vampire and I am a werewolf. We both feed on blood have a separate side. For me I have a wolf, but you father he have a beast. I will show you my wolf, she has a mind of her own." As soon as she finished the sentence, she got up and walked to the middle of the room. She stood still, then all of a sudden fur started growing on her then a flash of bright light covered her. When the light subdued, there was a 6 foot cream-brown colored wolf there in place of our mother. She paced slowly to us and lowered her head. Me and Kevin reached out and patted her fur, it was plush so soft, there were no words to describe it. It backed off to the middle of the room and a quick flash appeared then disappeared, and my mother was back. "Now you know what I look like. Now time to see your father." She said looking to James, "No you know I lose control when I shift. I would never forgive myself if I hurt my Half-Breeds" Mom went to James and whispered something in his ear. He nodded and got up. He walked to the middle of the room.

He stood still and closed his eyes. When he opened them, it was completely black, no sense of feelings, just an endless pit. Veins appears blue and visible on his skin and black swallowed him. Few flecks of red spotted his eyes. He was completely black and his fang elongated and he looked very threatening. And then some skin lifted up making three gils rise from his wrist and ended half way up his arms. "Wow" me and Kevin  said in unison. "Yes, this is the beast. Im not sure how long I can keep it under my control, but this is me" He said in a growl and hissing tone. He's very menacing in that form. Then the black leaked into his forehead and he was back to normal. He sat down next to mom and she continued "So now you have seen our sides, now you must know of our powers. For us, we are very strong, have increased hearing, eyesight, speed, we also can speak telepathically, because we are mates. But since you guys are twin and have the same blood but of different powers, you can speak telepathically too. Thisese powers you will gain. But other powers are soon to come, and you have to master them on your own, because we are not half-breeds and cannot help you. Your powers are your destiny." She concluded. So this was it? So we have to master our powers so we can win a war. Our lives is so messed up. We are here to save species. Now isnt that something? This is gonna be Hell.
