You are an explosion
Of color,
In the middle
Of a roaring green sea
You are the first thing
That catches my eye.
Like a field mouse
Surrounded by feral cats
You try your best
To stay out of sight,
But your fragrance is strong,
Your bright violet color
Gives away your position
To the enemy
She bounds over and chokes you,
You shriek and writhe in pain
As she pulls you up from the earth.
She brings you to her face
And a wicked grin appears
As she sniffs you
Then tosses you aside,
No longer are you wanted.
You lay still
Almost as if you are waiting,
Waiting to pounce like a
Mountain lion
Atop an innocent bird
A new enemy approaches.
Your beautiful petals being its target
One by one it picks off your petals
Throwing aside your separated limbs,
Scattering them on the ground.
It is like a firefighter extinguishing
A raging violet fire
Putting you to rest.
