Jin’ya Chul is a normal college student.
He lives alone in his apartment which is small, but just enough for one person to live in comfortably, which he keeps neat and tidy. Everything has its place and each place is tidy.
To provide for himself he works as a barista at a cafe, where he makes enough money to pay for his apartment. Luckily, he is on scholarship for his university so his fees are covered. Through hard work and studying, he was hoping to push himself to be able to get a high paying job out of college.
“Hah! Ack!” Currently, the asmatic man was struggling for air, while racing down the backstreets of his neighborhood in Seoul.
The only blight in his life had been that his father abandoned him, despite having several loans to his name. With his father in the air, the loan sharks he’d borrowed money from in order to gamble set their sights on Jin’ya instead.
As soon as he turned twenty-one the loan sharks started harassing him at full throttle, demanding he pay them back all their money. With his small job he could only pay so much, and soon enough he ran into trouble. The loan sharks he was facing now were particularly dangerous since they were known for selling the organs of people who weren't able to properly pay up.
It was due to these payments he hadn't been able to pay for his apartment for the second time in a row...
"Move out." the quiet tone of his landlord nearly sent Jin'ya into a panic.
"Ma'm...please, just give me a month," he begged.
"You said that last month...I understand the stress you're under, but I also have to make money. I'll give you till two weeks to pack your things, it's the most I can do for you.." the woman sighed.
"Thank you." Jin'ya bowed respectfully to her before entering his apartment and sliding down to the ground.
Up until his father's sudden departure, Jin'ya had been forced to be his errand boy and watch his old man ruin their household with his own hands. And then one day he just walked out on him, leaving him in a situation where he had to second guess his every purchase no matter how small.
Unsure of what to do Jin'ya sulked in his room for most of the day, his motivation to do anything had plummeted astronomically. Staring up at his ceiling he watched the shadows moving for sometime before his phone buzzed.
'Hey, can you meet me at the bridge by the convenience store?'
It was a text from his boyfriend...a bit late to meet at the bridge, but Jin'ya needed some comfort so he was willing to travel anyway. Putting on his jacket and shoes, he headed out into the colorful streets of the city of Seoul.
He knew what bridge his boyfriend meant, it was the highway bridge over a large river that was down the corner from the convenience store they often hung out at during their high school days. Pausing he purchased strawberry milk for himself and cola for Minwoo.
Reaching the bridge he smiled and waved at his boyfriend before running over,
"Baby~!" he beamed.
"Hello..." Minwoo's face was serious and stern-looking.
"Minwoo it's pretty late...why did you invite me out here to the bridge at this hour?" Jin'ya reached out to touch the man's hair.
He smacked the boy's hands away and Jin'ya gazed up at him in pure shock...but the boy's instinct quickly kicked in and his expression turned into a frigid gaze.
"Um, what's wrong with you?" Jin'ya raised an eyebrow and crossed his arms.
"Let's break up. I'm almost twenty-one I need an appropriate fiancee." the other man said slowly before turning around.
