Dinner and Friends

After school that day we went over to Mercer's house to have dinner together with E.J.

E.J decided to make korean barbecue and he prepared the meat for us by the sink as we happily grilled the meat and ate it with rice and other vegetables that I had helped prepare. Due to my parents being gone on business trips for their company most of the time I always cooked at home for Perry and I, so I was quite good at it.

Plucking some of the successfully grilled beef off of the little rack I held it out to Mercer,

"Eat up." I beamed.

He happily let me feed it to him which E.J noticed and raised an eyebrow,

"If I didn't know better I'd think you two were dating." he shrugged.

We froze before laughing his statement off, Owen took note of our awkwardness and I was certain he'd use it against Mercer in the future. I would not want to piss someone like him off.

Things were normal for the most part until E.J asked Mercer to pass him his cup. Mercer was distracted by me playing with his legs under the table and he grabbed whatever cup and gave it to E.J. Owen had a sip from his cup before downing it completely. I was a bit confused since Owen didn't look like the type to chug his drinks.

"What the hell? Mercer this is water. Wrong cup." E.J said.

"I feel dizzy." Owen said.

He began to claim his head hurt and I realized he was up to no good. E.J rushed to his side and began to comfort him. Mercer was displeased by this and began to argue that Owen drank from the wrong cup on purpose. The argument was preventing E.J from carrying Owen to his bedroom to lay down. It was then that Owen mouthed at me to help.

HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO HELP HIM HOOK UP WITH MY BOYFRIEND'S FATHER.

He was truly fortunate that I owed him big time for today. I spoke up quietly,

"Mercer since he doesn't feel good...maybe we should get him some medicine..." I asked.

"Why the hell would I. He can get it himself." Mercer crossed his arms.

It looked like I was going to have to really sell my dignity this time. I pouted slightly and tugged on Mercer's sleeve,

"I was hoping we could get some alone time." I said.

"I completely understand." Mercer said before grabbing my wrist and dragging me to his motorcycle in a rush.

I wondered if he misunderstood something since he was in such a hurry. He drove especially fast to the nearby convenience store we always went to after school. Splitting up I went to the pharmacy section and looked through the meds for the best ones for hangovers.

Once I found the right ones and I began to look around for Mercer. I spotted him by the hygiene section and I walked up to him curiously. That's when I realized he was holding a pack of xl condoms and looking at some others. I almost passed out.

NOT READY! I'M DEFINITELY NOT READY!

I'd only just reached the sort of like him phase! I wasn't even in the crushing on him phase!

Spotting me he smiled and pulled me over,

"Which one should we get, do you think?" he asked.

"This isn't what I meant by private time...I was thinking hanging out or something." I covered my face blushing.

"Oh, did I misunderstand...Got it, then how about we get back and give this to Owen. Then we can stop somewhere and get something for dessert." he smiled.

I nodded, and we returned with the medicine. We opened up E.J's room and we both blanked. Owen was pinned down to the bed with his sweater missing and the top buttons of his dress shirt undone. E.J looked at us and waved happily,

"Hey Mercer did you get the stuff?" he wondered.

Without so much as a word to his dad, Mercer grabbed my hand and dragged me out the house. I noticed he was fuming when I climbed behind him on his bike. We drove off and roade throughout the city for some time. The sights were really beautiful, but I was worried about Mercer. I'm sure the scene with Owen had been a misunderstanding.

We eventually stopped at a stand selling slushies and Mercer bought us two. We had a seat at a bench in a park in silence as we both sipped out drinks. After a while Mercer spoked up,

"Fuck-! I can't believe him. He should've left my mom alone if he was just going to end doing that kind of thing. My mom's life was ruined because of him, and now I'm stuck in this shitty situation with him where we use our first names." he said.

"Well the two of you look like brothers so I don't think it's strange you have that sort of friendly relationship since he met you later in life. Also the fact that he wants to be present in your life and nags you is proof you're important to him. Owen is nineteen anyway so it's not illegal, but I understand being uncomfortable." I comforted him.

He was quiet for a moment before he kissed me, I dropped my drink and wrapped my arms around his neck. His tongue entered my mouth and I accepted it easily. His hands crept up my shirt to my nipple and I moaned into the kiss, jolting with shock when he pinched it.

My body began to heat up and I pulled away placing my hands on his chest to keep him at bay as I tried to recover my breathe,

"You taste as sweet as you act." Mercer grinned.

"Y-You...we're in public you can't go lip locking me as you please." I scolded.

"No one's out here. We could even do it on the bench." he smirked.

"oH MY GoD- I'm going home!" I grabbed my stuff and walked off in a huff.

Mercer jogged up behind me and hugged me, "Thank you for the advice." he said.

"Of course." I smiled.

He drove me home on his motorcycle and I returned home a bit giddy. I put a hand on my lips and smiled before walking inside. I grabbed a popsicle from the fridge and went to my room. I sent a picture of the popsicle in my mouth to Mercer as revenge before taking a shower, brushing my teeth, and going to bed.

The next day we found out that Owen had actually ended up drunk and he vomited all over himself. E.J stripped him off his sweater and then they argued over whether not to take off his shirt when Owen began to feel stifled in the room.
