"Peyton, you ready?" Chris asked as he passed my bedroom door fastening her earring.
"I'm not going." I said, sitting on my bed.
"What?" She asked coming in my room. "Peyton, Trevor's leaving in two hours and he's buying drinks."
"I'm aware. I'll call him later." I said tying my hair up in a messy bun.
"Okay, I'll bite." She said, sitting on the edge of my bed. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing. I'm just not going." I told her.
"Was it Jack?" She asked.
"Christina, just go. I have homework and some chores to get caught up on." I said. "Go, have fun. I'm fine."
"If you change your mind we're going to Bar A." She said, pushing herself off my bed.
I heard the door close not long after that and started to busy myself. Thankfully my messy apartment kept me occupied for a while. I had finished tidying up the living room and doing the dishes when I finally stumbled back into my bedroom. I had barely sat down when my phone started to ring.
"Hello?" I answered it.
"Hurricane! Where the hell are you?" Trevor's voice came through the phone.
"I'm home." I said.
"Home like Michigan? Home-home?" He asked.
"The apartment Trev,"
"So why aren't you here? I swear to god if you say homework you're getting sucker punched."
"I have stuff to do." I said.
"Peyton Elizabeth Cane, get your ass out of bed and into some jeans and get down to the bar right now!" Trevor said. "I'm leaving in an hour and I won't be back for months, please."
"You're a pain in my ass Zegras."
"You love me." Trevor rejoiced before I hung up the phone.
I pulled myself up and tugged on some ripped jeans and a black body suit, pairing it with my black suede booties. I pulled my hair out of its messy bun and dragged a brush through it before tying it up in a long ponytail. I brushed on some mascara before I grabbed my clutch, keys, and phone. I locked up the apartment and went downstairs before calling my Uber. When the suburban pulled up I hopped in the back and greeted the woman.
"Night out on the town?" She asked.
"Yes, my best friend leaves for California tonight. Last hoorah sorta thing," I smiled.
"Bit of a late start, don't ya think?" She asked, referring to the clock that read 10:45 PM.
"My friends started before, I didn't really want to come out but I clearly lost that battle." I laughed.
