I'm Not Into You!

Meeting The Parent's

This is it. The big day, Mercer and I have been dating for nearly four months now and I was going to be introducing him to my parents and brother today.

E.J had caught on to our relationship quickly after he started dating Ownen. He was completely fine with it as long as we kept the intimate parts for when he wasn't in the house. But my parents were a completely different story.

"Don't be worried. I'll be here with you no matter how they react." Mercer kissed me lightly.

I held his hand tightly, "I know."

We'd come back from a short little date since I'd been so nervous I couldn't think well and Mercer wanted to calm me down. I stood in front of the door to my house and I fumbled with the keys before unlocking and opening the door.  

I walked in and he followed after me. He'd been to my house before but always as a friend. I locked the door before turning to find my dad reading a paper and my mother in the open kitchen next to the living room. As for Perry he was watching tv on the ground.

"Oh Honey you brought a Mercer again !" she said when she spotted us.

"Yes mom I have something to say to everyone." I said seriously.

"Yes sweetie?" she wondered.

"... Mercer isn't my friend,  he's my boyfriend!" I announced.

"Oh my. Well I'd suspected it a bit." my mother admitted.

"AHA! I called it!" Perry cheered and I kicked him lightly.

My father was the last to speak and he looked Mercer up and down before sighing,

"It's not what I was expecting from you. But I love you as my son so I'll support you always." he said at last.

I hugged everyone tearfully, I'd been so worried about how they'd react to things. Mercer patted my back comfortingly, and I was overjoyed that they'd accepted him. He stayed over for dinner that night and we all happily laughed around the table.
