A request from Nickyanne! Sorry this took so long but I hope it's worth the wait!

The world was devoid of color.

Everything you saw was a collection of dark shades and light. The world had been black and white for your whole life; everyone you saw was just a collection of dull matter that never lit up. Most of the world was born with this sort of problem. However, there are the luckily minority in this muted world that were luckily enough to see it in color. Those lucky few are the ones who have connected with their soulmates.

In the Wizarding World, a young witch or wizard is born seeing the world in black and white, similar to bring colorblind. The only difference being that this phenomena is temporary. Once that young person touches his or her soulmate, their world will explode with color, and they will see earth in all its massive glory.

This was the world you lived in.

It was also the reason behind your love story with Sirius Black.

You loved being a Prefect. It had always been your goal in life to succeed your family name and become a Ravenclaw Headgirl, but the first step was being one of the few brightest and kindest people in your house and getting selected to be a Prefect by Dumbledore.

You had worked hard your whole life to uphold your family tradition. You made outstanding grades, volunteered around the castle, ran a study group for first years, and were the closest you had ever been to achieving your lifelong goal. You were so close to the crimson badge being adorned on your chest you could almost feel its velvety material in your fingers, but just when it seemed in reach, you were taken back. Subconsciously, you sighed as you walked down the many corridors of the castle, tending to your rounds like always.

It was a particularly late night, and you yawned, struggling to keep focus as the dark hallways took on a gloomy aura. You shivered in the cold night as the open air windows exposed you to the elements, and you tightened your robes tighter around your body.

"The things I do for this school," you muttered, your eyes dropping. You could feel the exhaustion taking you over. Your legs began to slow into a sluggish rhythm, as if you were walking through peanut butter, and your yawns became frequent and long.

You were almost done. If you could just make it...

Suddenly, a loud crash that almost resembled thunder resonated off the walls in a devastating commotion. Just like that, all tiredness left your body in one moment, and your eyes snapped open. Your senses on high alert, you ripped out your wand and sprinted towards the sound.

Blood was pumping through your veins and your heart was beating loudly as you grew closer and closer to the noise. The nearer you got, you could hear the shouting of many voices, all male, screaming with no mercy. It was as if they didn't know it was the middle of the bloody night! You tightened your grip on your wand as you turned the corner, but almost stepped back in horror at the sight before you.

How could you not have guessed.

James Potter was suspended several feet off the ground, hanging by the hook of his robe pocket off the edge of a moving staircase, his glasses askew and his skin pale with fear. His best mate, Sirius Black, was standing above him, a look of absolute terror on his face. Matching expressions were painted on the faces of Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew, who looked practically sick as Lupin searched aimlessly for a way out of this calamity. You gasped loudly, looking at all four boys in shock.
