Phoenix Moon's In Labor!

Boy Or Girl?

For this story only, the setting will be in February 2021. After this story, we'll go back to either July or November 2020. Just so you know. Hope you enjoy!

The date was February 26th, 2021. Let's see what's going over at the Nishiyomi house. 19-year-old Hougetsu [Phoenix Moon] was still sleeping. Until Cinder the Dalmatian (well, by this point, she won't be a puppy anymore) came upstairs and licked his face. Hougetsu opened his eyes and saw his dog.

Phoenix Moon: Is it time for you to eat already?

Cinder barked.

Phoenix Moon: Alright. I'll be right down.

Cinder understood and went back downstairs.

After Hougetsu got dressed, he went to work on feeding all 50 of his cats and dogs. After a few minutes, he was finally finished.

Phoenix Moon: You guys eat up now.

All the pets went up to their food bowls and ate. Hougetsu went in the living room to watch some TV. Suddenly, he felt a pain in his stomach. He screamed and put one hand on his stomach. The pets looked up from their bowls.

Phoenix Moon: Oh, don't worry about me, you guys. Keep eating...Aah!

Roscoe the Saint Bernard went to the phone, picked it up with his mouth, and walked over to Hougetsu.

Phoenix Moon: Thank you, Roscoe.

Roscoe barked. The first person he called was his 24-year-old girlfriend Aretha [Ambivalence].

Ambivalence: Hello?

Phoenix Moon: Hi, Aretha. It's me.

Ambivalence: Hi, little birdie. What's up?

Phoenix Moon: It's my baby. It's time.

Ambivalence: Already?! Okay, can you fly to the hospital?

Phoenix Moon: I'm in so much pain. So that's a no.

Ambivalence: Okay. I'll be right over.

Phoenix Moon: I'll make sure the pets don't bother you. Please try to hurry.

A few minutes later, Aretha arrived. She opened the door. She was greeted by the pets.

Ambivalence: Hi, guys. I really wish I could pet you. Now, where's your owner?

Cinder directed her to the living room, where Hougetsu was.

Ambivalence: Ready to go?

Phoenix Moon: Yes. Can you help me to your car?

Ambivalence: Absolutely.

Aretha helped her boyfriend onto his feet and towards her car.

Ambivalence: We're here.

Phoenix Moon: The pains are getting worse.

Ambivalence: I know, baby. Just hang in there. We're almost inside.

She helped Hougetsu out of the car and into the hospital.

Spacy Nurse: Hello, Aretha and Hougetsu.

Ambivalence: It's my boyfriend's baby. It's coming.

Spacy Nurse: We'll get him straight to the delivery room. I'm sorry, but you have to wait in the waiting room.

Ambivalence: Alright...

2 hours later, Aretha was really getting worried about her boyfriend.

Ambivalence: (to herself) What if the baby doesn't make it and end up stillborn? What if Hougetsu dies during labor?

Spacy Nurse: Ahem.

Aretha heard her voice.

Ambivalence: Please tell me they're alright.

Spacy Nurse: They're both fine. The baby is healthy. Would you like to see?

Ambivalence: Yes.

Veronica led her to the delivery room. There, Aretha saw Hougetsu holding a bundle wrapped in a pink blanket in his arms.

Ambivalence: Are you okay?

Phoenix Moon: I'm a little tired, but I'll be fine.

Ambivalence: So, you gave birth to a girl, huh?

Phoenix Moon: Yep.

Ambivalence: She has your lovely violet eyes.

Spacy Nurse: So, Hougetsu...what are you going to name her?

Hougetsu had to think about it for a minute before answering.

Phoenix Moon: I would like to name my baby after my sister.

Ambivalence: You mean Ame?

Phoenix Moon: Yes.

Ambivalence: Aw, that's very sweet!

Phoenix Moon: It's been almost a year since she passed away.

Ambivalence: I understand why you wanted to name her Ame. She was a wonderful person, even though I didn't get to know her that well.

Phoenix Moon: She was the greatest sister I ever had. I just wish she didn't leave so soon.

Ambivalence: So, are we going to do this again soon?

Phoenix Moon: Maybe. If I ever...go into heat again. I'm sure little Ame wouldn't mind having some siblings.

And so, Ame Nishiyomi was born. Let's see what the future has in store for her.
