Chapter 27: Magic vs Magic

Kody's P.O.V.

"W-What!?" I said in surprise. I really didn't know what to do, but this might be a way to see what I'm capable of.

"C'mon, Kody."

*sigh* "Fine." I say as I get up. Lumine looked excited, seeing his tail wagging.

"Ok, let's see what you can do." I pick up a small log, and throw it up to the sky. Once it starts to come back down. I slice my hand down and the log splits. "Beat that." I intimidate.

"Gladly." She says, rolling her eyes. She puts her hand out and immediately a green fire appears on a big part of the tall grass in the back of the lawn. After a few seconds, she closed her hand into a fist, and the fire stops, leaving the lawn perfectly cut.

I hesitate to figure out what to do next, but then I see Lumine sitting on the bench, which gives me an idea.

"Lumine, stay still."

"W-wha...whYAHH" I make the bench levitate, as a couple concrete blocks come over and fall under the bench, after I lower the bench onto the blocks.

"Well, you got me there. I couldn't keep my mind that focused to be able to take control of multiple things...G-Good job Kody." She hesitated on the good job part, probably because she's really not used to being so nice to me.

"Thank you. We should train together sometime, I still have that book *that you stole from me*, we can both try to learn some of the spells..."

"Oh, uh...ok. That'd be nice." She smiled and started to walk inside, while I walked over to Lumine.

"Kody, that was amazing!" I blush a little. "Thank you." He smiled and grabbed my hand. I sit down next to him. I look around and spot a piece of the log had dented dads car. I see him come outside.

"Hey Kody, I'm gonna go to the store for a little bit and WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED!!" I freeze in my tracks.

"We're you practicing again?!?" He said, frustrated at me. "Y-Yea..." I hesitate to answer his question.

*sigh* "What did I tell you, don't do anything this close to my car. Well, I can't do anything now...I'd better go tell Elena."

"Sorry dad..." I try to tell him, but he walks into the house.

I feel a hand on my shoulder. I look over to see Lumine. "It's fine, but you should probably listen to him." I laugh slightly. "Yeah, maybe."
