Meli's POV

The moment I stepped inside SHED, I felt mixed emotions of happiness, tension, excitement, fear & something new bubbling inside me. I couldn't figure out the last one though, but I let it go.

How do you really feel when you can see your dream coming true? The one thing you ever wanted, you learned to live for & ready to face anything to achieve your goal? Do you feel like you are the happiest being ever alive? Like your inside screaming in joy & your stomach doing weird back flips & your heart acts like suddenly it became a drum pad? I don't know if this is what bliss feels like.. but I'm definitely feeling all these right now.

"Do you think we're gonna do well?" Jenny's voice filled with worry. I can sense her tension. "It's alright Jen, we'll do great. They will love our skills. Right Shan?" I turned towards Shan only to find her biting her fingernails worriedly.

"Yeah.. we will" even she sounded a little weak. I rolled my eyes at them. "Come on guys just chill. We'll be fine."

Just a few steps more. Then I'm finally there where I always wanted to be. Where my dad used to work once too.

After asking the receptionist, we headed for Senior officer's office for our meeting. I wondered what he's gonna be like? Is he strict? I know I have the skills but he is experienced. He faced lot of situations. Will he be too rough if I make any mistakes? I hope not.

I suddenly started missing Uncle Jeff. My Dad's best friend & the only one person I consider my family beside my siblings. He knew about my dad being an undercover cop. Actually undercover cops keep it a secret about their real work. They may or may not have some other temporary job to cover that up. Uncle Jeff used to boost up my confidence always. After dad, he was the one who helped & supported me through everything. At this very moment, I missed him. Maybe I should've called him before coming here. But since I can't do that now, I'll call him later today.

As I neared the senior's office, nervousness started to grip me. I knew I had nothing to worry about. I'm enough skilled & confident. But I had a feeling like maybe, maybe whatever's waiting behind that door is going to change my whole life. Which was technically true. Behind that one door, my dream is waiting. Probably I said the same thing for thousand times by now. But can you blame me? I'm super excited!

The office door was made of wood & glass. I could easily see thorough what or who was inside, but I didn't. The moment I entered the room, I tried my best genuine smile. There were five people in the room without us. One sitting behind the desk, one standing near the desk & the rest three were on the couch at tgr corner of the room.

"Can I meet Mr. Chase Adams? We had a meeting with him." I tried to sound calm. But maybe that came out a bit hurried? Great.

Five pairs of eyes stared at us. I felt a little self conscious. The guy behind the desk stood up and smiled. Wait.. I saw him somewhere. That smile.. I knew it from somewhere. Where did I-

"That'd be me. How can I help you Miss.." he spoke before I could figure out.

I stared at him. He is him?! I mean, I never thought him to be this young! Then I stared at the rest of them. They all seemed familiar. From beside I heard Jenny mumble something under her breath. I caught the carnival. Carnival!

Oh my god.

They were the boys from that table. I almost face palmed myself, but stopped before I could. Instead, I cocked an eyebrow at them & walked towards Mr. Adams.
