Chapter 35: Welcome Home Iris

Peyton's POV

I woke up and felt arms wrapped around my protectively. "No, I won't let you hurt her." I heard Max say. He was still asleep. I looked up at him and kissed his lips softly. I felt his lips smile underneath mine. I pulled away and looked up to his eyes. "Please tell me I am not dreaming." He said. "No, you are not." I said. He smiled and pulled me close to him kissing me again. I squealed as he began to tickle me. "I know that we just had our first date last night but Peyton, I am falling for you." He said. "I am falling for you too, Max." I said. He smiled and we climbed out of bed. We headed downstairs and got breakfast started. He finished the pancakes. I began finishing the eggs and I sent Max up to get Willow. I heard her scream and I heard two people running down the stairs. I watched as Willow jumped off the stairs and Max caught her. "One niece coming in for breakfast." He said kissing her forehead and placing her in a chair. I made her a plate of pancakes and eggs. Max handed it to her. I watched them interact and it got me thinking of how great of a dad he will be. Whoa, Peyton slow down, you guys just started dating. I handed Max his plate and we sat down to join Willow. I put whipped cream on my pancakes and ate them. I then got a devilish smile on my face. I grabbed the whipped cream can and Willow looked at me wide eyed. She got up and ducked under the table. "Willow Grace, what are you doing?" Max asked. I began spraying him with whipped cream. He screamed and grabbed the can. I giggled and took off running. Max caught me and got whipped cream all over me. I put some on my lips and he gladly licked it off. I smiled and kissed him. "I feel like I've known you my whole life." He said. I smiled. "I wish you did." I said. We cleaned up our little mess and Max took Willow up to get ready as I got ready. Ronnie texted me asking when we were coming and I said in about an hour since we had to stop at Max's house. Once Willow and I were ready we hopped into Max's car. "Uncle Max, do you have your new CD?" Willow asked. Max smiled. "Ya, I do sweetie." He said. He put in Ungrateful and Willow danced along with the music. "I should only be twenty minutes tops." He said. I nodded. I put the TV on for Willow and I walked up to Max's room. I heard him singing in the shower and smiled. I can't believe how much confidence I have now. I walked into his closet and found his sweatshirts. I found a Black Craft Cult pullover and grabbed it. I smelled it and slipped it on over my head. I felt instantly protected. "You're already stealing my sweatshirts." I heard his voice say from behind me. I smiled. "Well yes, I am." I said noticing he was only in a towel. I walked over and kissed him. "If you have a problem with that I guess you are going to have to take it off me." I said. He smirked. "As much as I would love to, we have to go see our new niece." He said. I nodded and went to wait downstairs for him. "Someone is in love." Willow sang. I began tickling her. "What was that?" I asked. "You're in love." She squealed. "I am with you." I said kissing her cheek and hugging her tightly. She giggled and hugged me back. "Okay ladies, off to see everyone." Max said. We climbed back into the car and headed to the hospital. We got there and headed to Julia's room. Max stopped and headed into the gift shop. He came back out with balloons and a teddy bear. I face palmed. "Let's go." I said. We got to her room and Willow ran over to hug Julia. I realized she had Iris and got Willow. "Honey, be careful. Mommy has your sister." I said. Willow nodded and walked over hugging Julia carefully. My parents and Ronnie's dad were here. My dad came over and hugged me. "Well, mom and dad, this is my boyfriend Max." I said. Russell's eyes widened. I chuckled. "Maxwell, you know I love you son but hurt Peyton and you are screwed." My dad said. He nodded and handed the balloons to Ronnie and walked over to Iris. "Here Max." Julia said. He took Iris in his arms and sat on the couch. Our parents went to go get food leaving us alone with Julia and Ronnie plus Willow who was cuddling up to Julia. "Hi Iris, I am you Uncle Max well your godfather. I promise you I will spoil you and I will always protect you." He said. I smiled as he kissed her forehead. I watched as tears came down his cheeks. I sat next to him and wiped them away. He handed me Iris and I kissed her forehead. "Hey girly, I can't wait to spoil you and take you to concerts when you get older. We will just have to sneak you past mommy and daddy. Although Willow and I did get caught once so you and I will have to be sneakier." I said. She smiled up at me. I can't wait to be a mom. Wait, did I really just think that? I looked over to Max and he was smiling. I looked up at Julia and Ronnie. Ronnie looked concerned and I saw the smirk on Julia's face. "Do I need to go buy protection?" Ronnie asked glaring at Max. "No." we both said quickly. We smiled at each other and Willow came over. "Can I hold her Mommy?" she asked Julia. "Of course baby." She said. "Hold your arms like me Willow." I said. She did as she was told and I placed Iris in her hands carefully. "I promise to be the best big sister in the world." Willow said kissing her forehead. Ronnie took a picture of Willow holding Iris for his phone. "I know what you are thinking." Max whispered in my ear. I looked at him confused. "One day." He said kissing my cheek. I smiled and he wrapped his arms around me holding me. I watched Julia smirk again. I sent her the daggers and she stopped. I nuzzled my face into Max's chest. I am so in love with this man. "I love you." I mumbled into his chest. He pulled away and looked at me. He kissed me softly yet passionately. "I love you too." He said. I finally feel whole.
