Y/N was a workaholic, completely devoted to spending long hours at the office and putting up with sexist assholes, that didn't think a woman could hack it in the cut-throat industry of big business; but she sure as shit could. When she wasn't working her ass off, she was sneaking off to her "boyfriend", Jungkook. Their secret relationship was purely needs based, when one needed companionship the other was there, so long as their schedule allowed it. The whole point was convenience. She had her job and he was an idol; now, that's not to say that Y/N didn't have feelings for Jungkook. Yes, their unique arrangement was focused on their sexual desires. But Y/N did have feeling for him, she just didn't have time to analyze those feeling and put them into understanding.
But that analysis was no longer required, one day she got a text... JK: "I think we need to put this on retainer, for the time being." She was so shocked by the cold and sudden text that she wasn't paying attention to her surroundings. She was waiting for the crosswalk sign to ignite when she ventured into the bike lane and was almost taken out. She suddenly jumped back, bumping into a someone and spilling the tray of coffees she was holding all over her. The man she bumped into yelled at her, as did the biker she was almost killed by, Y/N apologized and tried to salvage what she could of the coffee she had gotten for a big meeting. There was no use, all the coffee was on the ground or soaked into her white blouse and black blazer. She threw the cups away and continued walking to her office building, but now in a hurry. Y/N had so much on her mind, this meeting, her now ruined outfit, her now ended relationship? 'What happened?' 'And what the hell is up with this benign text? "Put this on retainer" What am I, his fucking attorney?' she thought to herself while rushing through the busy streets of Seoul.
Walking into the lobby of her workplace she tucked her phone away 'Okay focus Y/N. Compartmentalize.' she said to herself, 'You have to think about work now and deal with your feelings later'. She stepped into the elevator almost having forgotten that she was still dripping coffee and had a huge soggy brown stain on her shirt. He male colleges laughed at her expense; she lowered her head in embarrassment. Stepping off the elevator, she didn't even make it to her desk when her boss stopped her, "Y/N where are the documents that -- And what the hell happened to your clothes!? You know we have that meeting today?" he said sternly. "Yes sir, I know, and here--" she began to pull the documents out of her bag, not knowing that the coffee had spilt in there as well.
"What the hell is this?" her boss raised his voice as she held a stack of papers saturated with coffee. "I- I'm so sorry sir, I--" she began to plead, but he cut her off, "Ah, forget it! Choi your coming with me." He pointed at one of her colleges that was gathered around watching the scolding. "Me?" Choi stated hesitantly. "Yes, you." he replied, "Y/N give him your notes for today's meeting." he commanded. "Sir?" Y/N questioned in a confused and submissive dementor. "Well, you're not coming to the meeting." her boss chuckled. "But sir, I worked really hard on the presentation." she replied. "That doesn't matter, look at you, Choi will do your presentation." he responded. "But sir--" she pleaded again, but her cut her off once more. "If you don't have the sense to come to work prepared, them don't bother coming at all. Pack your stuff, you're done here." he yelled back.
Y/N stood there on the sidewalk outside her office building, her former office building, with a banker's box full of useless stuff from her desk; she didn't know if she wanted to break her fist on someone's face or curl up into a ball and cry. Her day had turned to hell, and it was still early. After walking the city streets for a while Y/N set her stuff down next to a bench and removed her blazer, she neatly folded it and hung it on the back of the bench and sat down. Leaning forward she pulled out her phone and stared at the text again, 'How do I even respond?' she thought to herself. But then decided massage an equally cold response....Y/N: "Understood." She set her back phone down. Then leaning back, she realized her jacket was gone, "Oh, shit!" she cursed and got up to try and find who took it. She wondered the streets searching for her jacket, losing the blazer itself wouldn't have been an issue, but her wallet was in the pocket. "Fuck!" she yelled to herself, just then she thought she saw someone with her blazer. She ran after the possible assailant.
