Maybe You're the One

Chapter 1

        *flashback*

(This is happens in the book lodestar when Dex was talking to Marella about her mom)

"How is your mom?" The boy asked. The small petite figure sniffed. "I don't know  Dex..."  she'd answered . "She's having a bad day" . Tears rolled down the girls eyes and she turned away. "Marella, I'm sure she'll be okay." Dex had comforted.But it was obvious that Marella wasn't convinced. Marella turned her head back towards Dex, and her eyes met his. Their eyes locked together, her blue, tearful eyes met his concerned periwinkle ones. Marella turned away, wiping her tears. Just when Dex was about to leap away, he paused and whispered something that made a smile form on Marella's face. "No matter what, I will always be here for you" he'd said. As Marella let the light carry her away, she replayed the words in her mind. Those words were the very ones that she remembered many years later.

It has been a full year since the Neverseen were defeated. But even though the elves knew the threat was gone, they couldn't help but wonder. "What if it happens again?" 

Sophie and her friends were old enough to register for matchmaking. Although, the Councillors had made an exception for Sophie when she was declared unmatchable. And over the few years Pyrokinetics was announced no longer a banned ability. The council realized that so many things could have been prevented if Pyrokinetics wasn't banned. Brant and Jolie wouldn't have been ruled a bad match and their story would have had a much happier ending. Fintan wouldn't have rebelled and created the neverseen. Councilor Kenric and Jolie  wouldn't have died and many things wouldn't have happened. This meant that both Sophie and Marella was allowed to register for match making. The group was closer than ever and Biana had suggested that they all get matchmaking packets together. The group was hesitate but with Biana's coaxing they all agreed. Which leads us to the dreadful yet exciting day, when they open their matchmaking packets together.
