"Hey babe?" Niall calls out from the kitchen where he is organizing his ingredients on the shelves.

"Yeah?" his boyfriend replies from the other room where he is lounging on one of the booth benches.

Niall doesn't reply, too concentrated on moving heavy boxes from one side of the kitchen to the other, then moving the sacks of flour and sugar to their designated spots. He bends over to pick up a box filled with his icing supplies and lets out a manly shriek when he feels warm hands grab his waist and pull him into their body.

His boyfriend's body rumbles with laughter. Niall pulls away and spins around on his heel. He pouts up at his boyfriend, "It's not funny."

"I'm sorry Ni, but it really is," his boyfriend wipes a tear that had escaped his eye, "It's funny every time."

"Not really," the blond mutters, crossing his arms over his chest.

"I'm sorry baby, please forgive me?" he asks, giving his boyfriend his signature puppy eyes.

"I don't know Liam, did you do what I asked out in the dining area?" Niall asks him, arms still crossed.

Liam's face drops and Niall knows before Liam can even open his mouth to respond he knows that he hasn't done what Niall had asked.

"I started, but I got frustrated because I didn't know where you wanted everything and I didn't want to keep interrupting you while you were so focused." Liam wraps his arms around Niall's once more and tugs him closer to his chest. He presses his forehead against Niall's, looking deeply into his cerulean eyes.

Niall sighs, "It's fine. I guess it'd be better if I did it myself."

"Just so you'll get it perfect," Liam smiles down before pecking his boyfriends lips quickly.

"Yeah," Niall mumbles, relaxing slightly as he kisses his boyfriend back. He pulls away after, turning back to the mess that is his new kitchen.

He had been very overwhelmed the past month or so. He had finally saved up enough money to rent out a storefront in town to open his dream cafe and pastry shop. He had been planning this since he was in college, studying to become a pastry chef. He'd thought of the idea while he worked as a barista on the side for money when he wasn't in class. He had given up a lot of outings during his last two years of college so that he could save up his money to pay for his own shop.

And now, his fantasy was finally coming true.

All he had asked was for a little bit of his boyfriend's help while he set up his shop to his liking. He had things being delivered daily, he had to organize and decorate the whole place, and he was hoping that his loving boyfriend would give him a hand.

Sadly, he had thought wrong.

He'd had the floors redone, the once uneven flooring had been replaced with new dark wood flooring. The fluorescent lighting was exchanged for soft warm lighting instead, inviting anyone inside and welcoming them with the cozy interior.

Niall loved the brick walls the place had, and when he had walked in to view the space for the first time he just knew that this was where he wanted his cafe to live. He had hand picked everything from the artwork that he had searched high and low for, the comfy couches and chairs, the rustic tables to match, and the rest of the interior. He wanted everything to be perfect.

He had even gone so far as to order a custom neon sign with the cafe's name – The Mix Up – to hang on the wall. He surrounded it with greenery, creating the perfect spot for customers to take selfies.

Niall was hoping to open up the cafe as soon as he could, and he knew that if his boyfriend were helping him instead of sitting on his ass, it would go much faster.
