Her Morning

I blinked twice then finally let in the scorching sunrays that knocks before the doors of my eyes.

Another day. Should I actually be grateful that I survived? Hmm?
I checked my phone, it is six in the morning. I stood up from bed grabbed a towel and took a quick shower. I slipped in my black jeans and tucked my loose colorless shirt.

Please, don't expect me to be brushing my face with make ups, i can't even afford to buy myself some shampoo!

I finished my routines after half an hour, went downstairs, quickly grabbed a glass of water for breakfast running away with a bag and a hoodie in my hand.

Then, I'm good to go.

Since you're here to read my story, I might as well introduce my self.

I am Wave. Wave Varshavski.

A college girl on her third year whose parents vanished when I was 8, after finding a family in someone else's homes leaving me with my grandma who passed away when I was 15.

Fortunately, I was able to enter the university through scholarship and try to make a living with any job life offers. I mean, the legal things you know.

But nope, don't expect me to be a cry baby because of that sad sentences I told you. Those are merely sentences for I have long accepted them. It doesn't affect me as much as you expect.

I have been living alone for maybe 4? Or 5 years? I stopped counting already. It seems like for me, it's just today. No yesterday, no tomorrow. I just have to live today. What happened yesterday is done, and i can no longer do anything about it, and tomorrow is a blind curve whether we see it or not, we just have to pass through it anyway.

I am heading to school now, if you'd ask. I am not a loner, well, yes, it wasn't my choice to be alone.

It's just that, some unnatural things happened  to me, like a pot falling on a different direction mid air to avoid cracking in my head, how someone grabbed my hair and she ended up choking by herself.

Slowly, things changed for me. My friends started slipping away, and completely disappeared when that incident happened.

From then on, no one wanted to talk to me as rumors started to run like wild dogs unleashed.

Everybody thinks i have this black magic playing beneath me.
Funny isn't it? If there is, i'd be busy making spells on money, or probably i just teleported to stay away from the misery of these judgements..

I laughed at the bitter thought, slightly chuckling, that's when i realized a girl saw that and started running away, scared. Pathetic.

I just smirked and shrugged it off.

"Stop laughing alone, that'd make you a crazy witch then."

I looked back from where that shameless words came from. Unlike mine, her hair was as long as her patience and as straight as her values with a face prettier than my life. It was Jaye, Kanis Jaye Mort. My bestfriend, the only one who's unafraid of my curses.

I gave her a grin as she sat in front of me, we are behind the school's building, a table under the tree near the soccer field where no one usually hangs out since it's the witch's hideout.

"Hey, black jeans and white shirt? What are you a waitress?"
Jaye pointed out, with that fancy coat and camisole that costs more than my well being, yes she has the right.

"Well I am, I'd actually be on duty after class, Miss." I answered with confidence.

We just laughed at it. I am a waiter, an assistant, a tutor, an entrpreneur, a fake, and a liar half witch. Name it! I can be whoever you want me to be!

"By the way Wave, I got something for you", she said as she handed me that purple box with a ribbon on it, I don't need to guess, I know it's cheesecake.

I smiled. She remembered. But that smile faded in an instant, she's giving me this in advance and I know the reason.

"My parents and I are going out of town tomorrow, I'm sorry."

Her parents are taking her away on my birthday, they badly know she'd escape to be with me just like last year, after that incident. Because, who would want their only child, their princess, be with a witch like me?

Even so, I enthusiastically replied with a "Thank you." and gave her the most reassuring smile telling her i understand.

At least, I got her.
