I heard my father's voice boom, I grit my teeth and strike another bolt of lightning at the gauge, "Hmm, one billion volts, not good but acceptable, hurry up. You've got to get to the UA recommendation exams," He turned the machine off, Zeus the Stungun hero. Tied in second place with Endeavor the Flame hero. My father's quirk was deadly but nonetheless absolutely powerful. He could call the skies, make lightning rain down like it's nothing. My mother, Yui Mizuki, quirk, glacier. Her control over ice was so impeccable, she was scouted by many agencies but turned them down when she had her family, I was bred to compete, like a racehorse, strong, robust. A machine. My mother was but into a quirk marriage, to combine my father's quirk with my mothers, creating a fusion of both ice and electricity. My quirk, Electroglacier, I can create devastating bolts of thunder and delicate sculptures made of ice, pretty contradictory. "Come on my little snowflake, you've got to go, your father and I will be cheering you on, good luck," My mum smiles and ushers me out the door, I smiled, she was the only ready the house was liveable with dad pushing me to my limits every time I got home, "Love you mum," I kissed her cheek and ran out the front door, she smiles and waved while I saw my dad with his arms crossed with a frown on his face, "You better come first," He huffs, I pursed my lips and slammed the gate behind me. I walked up to UA, the recommendation exams were on today, I saw a boy in front of me, spit hair, one side red, one side white. I gasped to myself, no way, is that Endeavour's son? I asked myself, I fiddled with a strand in my ponytail, I was the same, I had steel blue on my right side, my electric side and a frosty grey on my left side, my ice side. I was about to walk up to him when I saw another boy run up to him, tall and broad-shouldered, "Hey! You're Todoroki, Endeavour's son! My name is Inasa Yoarashi!" He smiles and stands up straight, "You're in the way," He says, staring forwards, not giving a glance at the guy, he flinches and stops walking, "Hey, I'm sure it's just a misunderstanding," I pet his shoulder and keep walking.
"Welcome, you've all been placed into UA's recommendation exams. You are all exemplary students with powerful quirks, however, only a few of you will make the cut. Show us what you've got and how badly you want to come here. My name is Aizawa Shota, I will be grading you today," He says, almost tiredly, "Line up, the one hundred sprint is about to take place," He writes on his clipboard, "Todoroki and Yoarashi, line up," He says, they step forward, "No way, is that Endeavour's son?" "He looks so cold," "Who's the other guy?" People were muttering, I just watched their race, the buzzer beeped and they got off, Todoroki made a glacier behind him while Inasa was on a ball of wind, propelling himself forward, they were neck and neck until Inasa powered through to the finish line first. Todoroki didn't seem too bothered, "Good race!" Inasa put his hand forward, he just shrugged it off and walked back into the crowd leaving Inasa by himself again, "Nariko and Yaoyorozu, line up," Mr Aizawa says, we nodded and went to the line, "Wait, is that Zeus' daughter?" "No way, she's pretty," "Look at her hair, it's like that Todoroki guy's just different colours," People were muttering, I furrowed my brows, I hated being recognised because of him, "Nice to meet you, I'm Yaoyorozu, feel free to call me Momo though," She girl smiles, I cracked a smile, "Nice to meet you too, just call me Yuki. I hate it when people call me by my last name," I felt myself spit out the last part, her eyes softened and nodded, "Ready, go," The buzzer went off, I extended my left hand and froze her feet in place before charging my body up with electricity and stimulating all my muscles making me run faster, I zipped to the other side before she even broke out of the ice, people were silent, "3.02 seconds," The machine beeped out, I kicked the dirt, if dad heard that he'd make me train for an extra three hours, "Wow, that was amazing, you're quirk is so versatile," Momo ran up to me, I smiled softly, "Yours too, creation I'm guessing?" I looked at the ice pick she left at the starting line she used to break out, she nodded, "Are you kidding, your quirk is where my money's on," I grinned, she laughed, "I wouldn't say that, yours is miles better," She says as we walked back to the group, "I hate my quirk," I mumbled, "Huh?! Why's that?! Your quirk is the perfect fusion of your father's and mother's quirk, you're very powerful!" Inasa ran up to me, that struck something in me, "THAT'S WHY I HATE MY QUIRK!" I shouted and accidentally made an enormous glacier behind me, freezing a few students, "I-I'm so sorry!" I freaked out and shocked the ice away, I rocked on the balls and heels of my feet, "Hey, I'm sure it was an accident, no need to be so worried, everyone understands," Momo comforts me, I was just muttering to myself, I hate when I made myself look like a fool. Next we went to a large field, "You're next test is to throw this as far as you can," Mr Aizawa held a small coin, "But sir, that would be easy, it's so light," Someone said, "Exactly, something this light requires a perfect combination of thrust and control, you throw too hard it won't fly correctly and it will just drop at your feet, too slow you won't get far at all. Same result. You need to use a combination of both quirk and control to make the coin fly as far as you can." We were handed small coins, we realised that they were just arcade coins, I grinned to myself, I've been creating an ultimate move, I'd been doing some research and I found a weapon powered with electromagnetism, one of the forces I can control. A railgun. "Todoroki, your throw. Highest still remains at forty-three metres by Aiya." He says, the girl puffed her chest out and showed off her quirk again which was the ability to control flora, she bloomed a small flower by her feet. Todoroki looks at the coin and takes a breath in, he hovers his right hand above the ground slightly, I was icicles starting to form, he swipes his hand up and created a large glacier just like mine before he threw the coin up and created the glacier behind it, Aiya's jaw dropped, her new record was broken by a long shot, "Very good, finally a decent score. 527.6 metres," He nods, Aiya threw a small tantrum with herself, "Yaoyorozu, you're next," Mr Aizawa throws her the coin, Todoroki stood next to me, "Good job," I nodded up to him, he silently nodded back, Momo created a cannon with a small barrel, a perfect size for the coin to fit snugly, she lit the fuse and covered her ears, the cannon blew and fired the coin out, BEEP, "Hmm... good. Three hundred 431.2 metres." He says, she walks back, "Hey, that was good," I smiled, "Yeah, but not as good as Todoroki's I guess I've still got to work harder if I want to become the best," She talks herself up, "That's the spirit," I smack her back and grinned, "Nariko." Mr Aizawa says, I stood in the circle, "Best is still 527.6 metres set by Todoroki." He says, I flicked the coin up, "Is she stupid, how is she going to flick it far enough to beat that score?" I heard someone say, I felt electricity bounce around me, the instant it touched my thumb I flicked it out.
