Riley- Can you believe we did it We actually graduated high school
I exclaim as my friends and I sit around my mom's bakery
It has been more hours since we got our diplomas and while our parents were busy reveling in our sucessses back at the loft we had snuck down to the bakery to hang out Lucas was beside me with his arm draped around my shoulders while my friends all say around me Smackle and Farkle on the cushion to my right Zay smushed beside them and Maya sitting on Josh lap on the chair to the left
It wasn't shocking when my uncle and my best friend started dating and I had always figured that as long as my uncle was making her happy then I was happy
Lucas- I can't believe Maya did
Lucas teases
Maya's lips part in shock as the group begins to laugh but it's not long before she's composed herself and set her lips into a smirk a comeback clearly on the tip of her tongue
Maya- Yeah well you were supposed to graduate last year we rent you Huckleberry
She taunts and Lucas lips quirk into a grin a chuckle falling from his lips
Lucas- You got me there pancake
He concedes I shake my head at my boyfriend and my best friend in amusement
Zay- Hey
Zay interjects gaining everyone's attention
Zay- There's a party at NYU tonight
He announces scrolling through his Twitter feed He looks up at us expectantly
Zay- anyone feel like crashing
I glance around at all my friends and they all seem to be thrilled at the aspect of goung to s college party but I couldn't help but feel like it would only end horribly
Riley- A party Zay we aren't even in college yet
I reply nervously wieeying on my bottom lip as I lean further into my boyfriend's embrace
Zay- Hence why we're crashing
Zay empathizes
Zay- If we were in college We'd be invited
He adds with a shrug
Maya leans forward and squeezes my knee comfortingly
Maya- Come on Riles it'll be fun
She assures me I release a deep breath taking one last look at my friends I was the only one who seemed to think this was a bad idea and the last thing I wanted was to be the obstacle that stood in the way of a good time
It was one party one night it would be fine
Riley- Alright fine
Short first chapter I know but the time jump will start off the next chapter and I didn't want to throw it in the middle of this one The party will be explained in flashbacks throughout the story so don't worry you'll all know what happens eventually
